Butler Game 2

Having Dom D up Dunham is the key.  3'lo could not get it done in the first one.

Rysheed has th athleticism and length to guard Dunham but he has a tendency to go below the screen instead of fighting to go above it.  As soon as Dunham gets that bit of separation, he will pull the trigger.  We have to disrupt him enough when he tries to use the screen that he can't get a comfortable shot up.

I remember dlo guarding Jones. Thats a good matchup for both of them.  Think we need rysheed to guard dunham to start so Dom can help down low on boards. If it doesn't work then you make the switch.

Dlo is still not healthy so it will be tough for him to follow Dunham around.  He played him great last year.

Make Jones a jump shooter. He is very crafty getting to the rim and can finish with both hands.

Jordan missing the first game may have cost us the W.  Hopefully he comes to play and is the difference maker--he owes it to the seniors.

There's no may have. He definitely cost us that game. This is why he isn't a pro. If you're a pro, you come to practice ready and you come to games ready.

I know D'Lo was on Dunham  at the end for the dagger when he slipped and Dunham nailed a 3.

I was a the game.  3'lo was covering Dunham almost the entire game.  I recall Dom and Octagon on him in man 1 time each.

Savior could be a good option defending Dunham but it's not something a staff can plan or practice for so I didn't even think of it.

I consider Jordan's availability/playing status to be day to day or half to half.

D-Lo is going to have to cover Jones unless Butler goes small, in which case Dom can take him.  Dom and CO will have to cover Woods and the other big.  I'd start Jordan on Dunham because Phil seems to always get bottled up on screens, but perhaps Phil gets the assignment to start the game to keep Jordan out of foul trouble or if Jordan isn't stepping over ball screens.

I was drinking.  I could be confused.

So who did guard him?  Am I also wrong in thinking we played a lot of man that night?

I think this game will tell us all we need to know about our tournament chances. This is a tough team and a tough place to play but we lose this game and any chance at an at large bid is basically shot. How bad does everyone want this? We will see tomorrow night. I honestly think we are the better team and this is a game we cannot lose.

We lost to DePaul and Creighton on the road.  Butler will have a field day with us.  Double digit loss.

If unfinished business means anything at all, our run started Saturday.

I'll be hopeful, for now.
