Wow. Loaded field, but definitely great for the RPI/SOS (hopefully that's the mindset we should have).

So Florida Gulf Coast dropped out and LSU and ODU were added.

Looking forward to this. Great competition obviously and we will be much more competitive next year. Great for the exposure of the program and hopefully we can get some good wins

Think we are a year too early on each of these marquee preseason tournaments. Would have been great to go to Maui next year and be competitive there and then Atlantis the year after where we'd have a decent chance to win it. We will obviously be much better next year but will still be very young and raw and most of the programs there are well oiled machines

Wonder what happened to Florida Gulf Coast. I remember them winning a spot.

As an ESPN announcer said, "A year away from being a year away" That said, should be fun & fruitful.

Hopefully that is a conservative estimate.  They should be a bubble team next year.

Yeah, maybe he meant a year away from a year away from winning it all!  ;) :)

How much does this cost, and are there any potential discounts early in the year? Some friends and I are actually interested in going, but still young alum..

If everyone returns, and we land Bashir, Freudenberg, and someone like Alkins, then I feel we should also be no less than a bubble team.

Atlantis isn't cheap

Atlantis is very expensive, but there are much cheaper options on Paradise Island within walking distance and a lot more in nearby Nassau.

Classof2013, if you can get a group of 3-5 people and can spare the time, the cheapest option would be to drive to Ft. Lauderdale and take a round trip two-night cruise ship.  They leave at 5 PM from Ft. Lauderdale every other day, dock in the Bahamas at 8AM, and usually leave around 6 PM the next day but you can schedule a return on other ships if there is room.  I've done this before without a problem to stay a few more days. It's not a fancy ship, but it's a legit cruise with food included, a casino, bars, cabins, etc.  Just be careful what island it goes to as most go to Freeport and that is 100 miles from Nassau.

It would cost each person in a group of four about 150-200 for cruise, 50-60 for share of gas and tolls, and 25 or so a night at a place like the Paradise Island Comfort Inn if you shared a room.  All of that for what it would cost for a plane ticket from NYC or less. Game tickets, booze, and non-cruise food would be extra.  You could all work Monday that week if you left by  7 PM and took turns driving through the night.

I'm going too.

Do you think the package Sju most likely offers will be any good?

I think the Maui package they offered didn't include air travel.  I wonder if that will be the case with Atlantis tournament?

Using Maui as reference was that package offered open to all or you did you need to be a full/partial season ticket holder and/or member of Red-White club ?

Udate: Nevermind - found my answer on Maui here

I'll need to be patient and wait for official info to post on what may be offered through them.
