Hear this kid has a lot of Mookie Jones in him

More physical, better looking athlete than Jones.

What exactly does that mean..?

Maybe that he has a heart warming story of perseverance and personal growth

Ironic, given that JT was a decent lean for Terps or SJ's at one point. Now Cuse is in the lead for the next Mookie

What are you guys talking about?

What the Cuse are now in the lead for him?

The staff spent all this time on him and now SJU doesn't have a good chance of landing him.

Maybe the Cuse booster had a bundle of money for him.

Also another reason why Richardson left this year is he as old as most juniors.

Unfortunately, Cuse made inroads a while ago. Not guaranteed. I will ask some Stepinac alumni friends what is going on with JT.

Cuse has some built in advantages over SJ's and many other schools - you know better. It doesn't mean our awesome staff won't win a few battles here and there like they've already done.  Nova is doing just fine recruiting in their 40-90 ranked recruit sweet spot, with a Brunson and Spellman sprinkled in lately. The staff needs to get the pieces to fit good and fit CM's system.

@Jkim97

The 2017 NY Rens wing Jordan Tucker (@Therealjtucks) tells me he plans on taking unofficial visits to #Villanova & #Maryland in June.

Not really "all this time." More like a year, tops. Because before a year ago they weren't even a staff. Lou started recruiting Mullin when Mullin was 13. That was a long recruitment.

Tucker was clear when he said that he would be focusing on how Mullin handled his position. That's a pretty intelligent thing to say, especially for a 16 year old kid. If Tucker is going by what he saw last year, there's no way he could possibly still want to come here. Hopefully, if we want him, he waits until Mullin has a chance to coach a full roster of talent.

Boeheim turned Gbinije's career around, and he led a team to the final four during a season where SU was supposed to be hurting from sanctions. A kid like Tucker sees that and understands that SU is probably a safe bet. At least until Boeheim retires. After that, provided Hopkins takes over, SU is St.John's 2004-2005. Let us hope.

Love me some Boeheim, but he has an awful track record of sending players on to NBA success especially considering the talent he's had over the years. Other than Schrewshrenski has anyone been worse?

i think both programs have had college players that were a step too slow for the league, or a couple of inches too short. We've had a few of those ourselves, but Boeheim I think has had the most. But really, this is about developing talent, and sometimes, you are what you are. Would Gerry McNamarra or Andy Rautins have had lasting NBA careers had they gone elsewhere?

Gbinije was yesterday's news, and Boeheim brought him in, and coached him up. We need to do that with the kid we landed from Arizona. But getting back to Tucker, hopefully he waits and Mullin can show him something this fall.

I really can't wait for the day that this kid takes us off of his list. Conceited is a understatement:

St. John's technically doesn't have any scholarships for 2017, but will likely watch Tucker.

"Of course, they're going to see me play out of respect," he said.

Let's just say that there's a lot more to this story, he wasn't going to be readmitted into Stepinac in two weeks. This was a 'late decision' if you catch my drift.

He took a tumble in the scout.com rankings, down to 79.  ESPN still has him in the 30's.
