Jesus, you guys are a tough crowd. Nobody is going nine innings in 2017 first start of the year.

Amir is getting a ton of coverage from sju fans. St. John's baseball players don't get this much chatter when they make the majors and this kid only played here for half a semester. Not hating on it at all, good for the kid just found it interesting.

They mentioned him and St Johns basketball last night on the Mets broadcast. Ron Darling said that during the strike year they would play hoops and Ron had to guard Terry Bross, who he called a load

How many people know that SJU is top 5 with only 2 losses on the season? But anytime the school and SJU basketball is mentioned on TV is also a good thing.

The basketball team producing better baseball players than basketball players may not be the best look either...

Dude was here 1 1/2 years and he worked his ass off to get here for the second half of his freshman year. If we can ever be mentioned with such a good kid we are lucky.

Amir always has positive things to say about SJU and he was first Lav recruit (silently committed but think Moe was actually publicly first). He always had a swag to him that I loved.

Got Amir for $16 in FA in Fantasy baseball after first game.
MLB network was discussing him last night and said how he decided to forego a possibly NBA career to play Baseball

Last night on MLB Tonight they did a spot on him w Pedro Martinez, Harold Reynolds and the host of the show. They were gushing about him playing bball at St. John's and showed some of his AAU dunks and a couple of clips of him playing from the Garden. One of the clips was a D'Angelo Harrison ally oop to him. Who would have guessed.
