If he signs he should also be the strength coach

This kid has nothing on Marvin Clark. Now that is a big man.

Disagree. Saw MC several times at our games. This kid looks like a physical stud. MC big yes but not like this kid

Crazy talk. Clark has 20 lbs on this kid. His neck is 3-4 inches bigger in circumference. They aren't even comparable.  Kante is a skinny did who just got some muscles recently. Clark is a LB.

Need to get a young big to develop. We don't want to be scrambling for grad transfer bigs every year. Although we definitely need one this year.

We had and still have young bigs who didn't develop. Get the bigs that are ready now

MC looks a like a mini Larry Johnson in that team pic, and that was 6 months ago.

To each his own. MC is listed as 6'7" 225. Kante is listed as 6'8' 220 and just as muscled in the picture. I hope we get Kante and we'll find out. If we  don't then this is a wasted conversation .

Watched some of his Putnam Science games on YouTube.  Kid is built well, big, aggressive and looks like a good fit for us.  Can definitely defend in situations where Owens struggles.  We still could use one more grad big if we land Kante, to give us a bit more size up front.

Yeah he should be next then likely the next two will be transfers and not the grad transfer type.

Like the get if we land Kante, but ugh to the rest.  No one knows what the 18/19 season will bring, so to not bring in a proven big for next season is not ideal.  Wonder if it is because we have no chance with proven bigs who can make a difference next season, or there is no one out there remaining after the top guys, that will make a difference.   Maybe both.  However either way, we are still short handed going into the season.

If the next two are regular transfers than the 18 class must be nothing besides Luther

Oh don't worry scholarship openings always seem to open up even when at the time they all seem to be filled...:)

Agree here..  we will still end up having space for Luther and more.  Plus we have Diakite in that class already.  If we get top quality transfers, we can also do very well building this thing.  It's difficult from scratch and we all know that.

I really wanted a grad tranfer big. Owens can't play 20 minutes without fouling out. And although, I like Kante for the future, not our answer for next year.

Not sure what all the worry is surrounding scholarships for the 18 class. Room will be made for whoever is coming in. Even with Diakite in the picture we still have one scholarship open for 18 since Amar and Ahmed are graduating. The likely loss of Lovett opens another one. Then you have to figure at least 1 or 2 others will leave opening up more. Scholarship distribution concerns are a non-issue IMO
