Doesn't look good that we aren't even mentioned.

You wonder if Rowan Barrett could have been better under Louie, Fran or anyone else. There wasn't any D1 level coaching, discipline or training under the Mahoney years. Fran introduced St Johns to weight training and guys being in shape. Maybe with more program discipline and a different coaching attitude, he could have developed into more of a Lavar Postell

Mahoney was a drunk, and a complete nice person. He was our 1st nice person before Norm became the hot new piece of shit.

247 has him as the number 1 recruit in all of 2019. He is a perfect 5/5 stars. A 1.0000 rating.

Do we really have any business recruiting the current #1 recruit in his class ?

I get that dad graduated from us, but unless there is a strong bond w/ Mullin and/or the kid absolutely wants to play in NYC.

Just seems like a wasted trip, unless it's to plant seeds at this school for others.

Agree, highly doubtful IMO. Local event, so maybe Matt is really there for other players.

What's wrong with checking in? You never know, if we didn't show any interest then people would be complaining that we didn't check in on a former players son. Doesn't matter if he is #1 IMO.

Didn't realize it was local.  Thought he went to his school in Canada. This makes more sense.

If Barrett Sr and SJU or Mullin were tight I can see it, but seems like such a stretch, it's better to spend effort elsewhere.

Heard Zags was wrong on this.

Obviously RJ has reclassed to 18 and for those holding out hope for SJU you can officially move on, down to Arizona, Duke, Kentucky,  Oregon and Michigan.

This is good for SJU. One less landing spot for Scottie Lewis.

no conflict... Barrett is Class of '18 / Lewis is Class of '19. Barrett will likely be in NBA before Lewis arrives.

I'm not holding breath that we will be a legit finalist for Lewis anyway... but would be nice.

How many 5 star recruits have to commit before Jordan Tucker realizes he’s never going to see the court?

Tucker is along for the ride.
