Yakwe and not all that close. He is one of our only good defenders and he has rebounded and scored better then in expected because he is so raw. He is going to be a great player down the line I would think.

Though I don't necessarily disagree, just think about who our MVP might be:
6.8 ppg 4.9 rebs 41% fg 53%ft

Yea the team severely lacks Big East talent. I think we all know that. The only Big East players we have are raw Freshman like Yakwe, Ellison and Sima. Our go to scorers for next season aren't on this active roster in Lovett, Ponds and Ahmed

Sima hasn't looked like a BE player since he's returned. There's potential, but he needs a lot of work.
I agree. Get the feeling he is not fully recovered. Hope thats the case, because he has not looked good since returning.

The obvious answer is no one. But putting that aside I'd have to say the guy who played out of position all year, showed up every game, got pounded, was overmatched every game, and I'm sure never signed up for this but hung in - Mussini.

If he is getting pounded now how will he feel next year when he is being guarded by and not guarding guys that are 3 inches taller and 50 -60 pounds heavier?

His minutes will decrease and so will expectations, as he goes from being a starter to a role player.

There just aren't that many physical shooting guards that can hurt a slight player like Mussini consistently. Go back 20 years and beyond and he'd be in some real trouble. The personnel really screams zone to me anyway, and I think he is fine in a zone.

Lawrence went on to hit 37% from three as a junior and Greene shot 40% as a junior and 39.1% as a senior. Mussini is a far better shooter than Lawrence and significantly better than Greene IMO and we'll see that when the team can get him 4+ set shots per game. He's had the highest degree of difficulty on his treys that I can recall for an SJU frosh and 33% is pretty amazing when you consider how many he takes off the bounce or with a man in his face. The fg% will pickup with added strength and weight. He misses more chippies after beating his man than just about anyone I've ever seen. That is to be expected at 160.

I don't know if he will ever get big enough and more importantly quick enough to create the space he needs to hit shots. Going to have to rely on others to get his shot which puts him in the complimentary  player  category

He gets by his man pretty well now for a combo with no other ball-handling threat. He is the focal point of the defense. He's not that kind of player. When the defense has to worry about Lovett, Ponds, and Ahmed/RF, there will be plenty of space. And if one of the bigs ever develops enough offense to warrant double-teams or consistent help, he'll have a field day. He's a tough guy to guard got a SG or SF. He may not be able to dominate older pgs off the bounce, but he'll be a menace against must SGs . He can score alot of ways.

Man that's a great idea. I do love this table.  Look at the who's who of BE 3 pt. shooting on it.

Barlow
Kreklow
Archidiacono
Smith-Rivera
Gibbs
Hillard
Carlino
Dunham
Harrison

All GREAT 3 pt shooters.  Yet amidst all that incredible 3 pt. shooting, only one can be the very best.  Our very own PG.

I also like how it renders the argument of he who claims the Triangle's career consisted of a 3 minute out of conference span null and void without typing a word.

He will get a little bigger, but it needs to start with some effort. Clearly, he was full of himself enough that he didn't think he needed to get stronger. So, he'll get his ass kicked this year. It will be interesting to see what he's learned from it. If he shows up on campus and he's exactly the same size, we'll know what we have.
