I thought this was going to be a picture of lots of big east players from other teams in full body casts.

LOL!  Reading the last two paragraphs from the article makes me nervous.  Hopefully, we can have a season free of the circus of suspensions and personal issues that seem to have plagued our team the last few years.

"The key for St. John's will be for them to compete and play like a mature and selfless senior team. Its upperclassmen must carry themselves like leaders. That means negotiating the marathon that is the season. Veteran squads often can go either way. When they play for one another, special things happen. When they give into the pressure of being seniors and their last time through the door, they sometimes splinter.

If the Red Storm buy in and respect one another and the challenges, an NCAA tournament bid will be theirs. However, another season like last year, defined by suspensions and selfish play, will not allow them to fulfill their immense potential."

the selfish play comment is most likely directed at JaKarr.  He never passed the ball....

I like that Seth is such a big STJ fan. Last year he talked us up big time. This time around, I think he's closer to nailing what we need to do as a team. We need to play as a team. We didn't last year. BUT Lavin needs to do his part, too. The rotations changed so much and without much logic that the players couldn't follow his system, whatever it was supposed to be.

I still don't know what Lavin was trying to do last year.

Perhaps Seth is eying the job for 15-16? His résumé isn't impressive, but if you look at Virginia Tech, at least they were competitive under him, and that to be worth something even if it's more of a something out of nothing situation than a VCU or a Butler type of success story. Not a bad coach. Not a great one either.

I think lavin started believing his own hype that he was a good coach at the begining of the season. He got us off to that terrible start. i kind of think the assistants convinced him or he convinced himself that his ideas were stupid. Once they made simple changes the team started winning. I believe we will be good this year. I think we will play tough man to man defense. I do not believe we will play that matchup zone. I do not believe we will play any defense called quick sand.
I am certain that no walkon will play unless its garbage time. I think we win the big east. I believe that Whitesel makes most of the in game and practice decsions. I see Lavin giving excellent interviews in March. I expect a good recuiting class next year.

Picking SJU 3rd, exactly where I would put them.

Also it is important that schools like Nova and SJU and Georgetown take the flag of the conference and begin to have on court and off court success.  You see Marquette, Georgetown and Nova having success in recruiting, I think SJU is going to put together and very good class for 2015 and now if all of them can have success on the court along with Xavier it could really help the profile of the conference
