Can somebody explain that timeout to me?

What timeout?

The one Lavin called after the steal and transition 3 by Harrison to put us up 10. One sequence after a timeout was called by Providence

Not sure.  I wasn't paying attention, and assumed Providence called a timeout.

I do understand occasionally timeouts after made baskets.  But I didn't understand that one, as we had the momentum, and I'm sure Cooley would've called a timeout in that situation.

Not a smart play by Jordan.  We got lucky, as he looked like he traveled.  Pull the ball back out and take off more time.

Obekpa still can't consistently finish those shots near the basket.

Let's finish this one out.

This one looks to be over.

Per the Providence board, they (the Friars) can't beat the "thugs."

Showed guts regaining control after blowing  lead. Solid win & sweep of a good team. On to Butler!

Boy Prov fans hate SJU.  And the name calling from a school that had had plenty of questionable characters (Batts)

"This confounds with our tenacity in the vertical game. We came out punching instead of countering our opponents' smash mouth style. Out team responded to the challenge of being professional with regards to our poor previous performance after the Duke letdown...."

Me: We shared the ball, shot well, defended the 3 better, and contributed to a poor PC shooting performance. Well done, now let's get 2 good games in a row and build on this.

Providence player that fouled Jordan earned himself a Joey Delarosa in the 2015 BE tourney. That was dirty. But hey, how about Joey Delarosa scoring the basket and getting fouled? Stunning. He even hit rim on the free throw.

Bunch of sissies. This is the Big East, no crying in league play. Unimpressed with Providence, they will be out quick in March. Cooley is a bitch too

Sleepy home crowd/student section today.

If Harrison would have hit his FTs we would have seen his 2,000th point at the Garden. Shame he has to do it on the road.

On to the next one!

Congratulations to Phil Greene IV on passing Reggie Carter, who led Sju to the elite eight beating Temple, Duke and Rutgers before bowing out to UPenn 64-62 in the East Regional finals in the 79/80 season; and rebounding machine Jayson Williams who averaged more than 10 rebounds a game in 4 consecutive Nba seasons including 13.5 and 13.6 boards in back to back years with the Nets. He often was Rodmanesque.

The Ellipse is now in 40th place on the Sju all-time scoring list..  Career validation yo!!!

8)Dom from 3.!  Most important half of the season coming
I had to check the stats...that is his first made 3 of the season on 15 attempts.

Upstate were you at the game by any chance? Guy sitting behind me said the same thing right after the halftime break.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Haha...no I wasn't at the game.  Next game I'm heading to is the SH game.

Steal nothing . We have better players. A loss would be another bad loss. No more losing to worse teams

We'll be the underdog. Relax and hope we play well.

Take a good look at who Butler has beaten, and tell me that we are the better team? Once in the last 10 years, we were a better team than Butler. And that last year, a year where we sucked too.
