10 games

We went off the rails with all of the Jordan BS and Harrison getting hurt. The rotation 6 guys are an NCAA team if everything is normal. Go 8-2 over the next 10 games going into BET and we are in the tourney. Team has flaws. Depth, size, rebounding, outside shooting, shaky coaching and free throw shooting. But if Jordan didn't go off the reservation and Harrison didn't get hurt we would probably be ranked. Harrison despite not playing well, looked like his old self. If Jordan can go 10 games w/o doing anything stupid(Big if) I think we can go 8-2 and make tourney.

Winning 8 of the next 10 is a tall tall task my friend. We still have to play the league's best 4 teams on the road

Only way outside of a BET run we get in. Nothing easy with this team. Could go 2-8. 8-2 gets us in and that is how I am going to look at next 10 games.

7-3 and making it to Saturday of the BET should do the trick. That also is going to be very tough to do

7-3 will get in too.  But that's just as tall of a task as 8-2.

Tragic number to me is 9 BE losses.  You hit that and hang em up.

Yeah, there are different combinations depending on how we do it the BET. 8-2 leaves no doubt and that is how I am rooting. Will be hard, everything is hard when you root for this program. We should not be in this position. But I do not think 8-2 is impossible.

correct Moose. .500 is the death knell in the Beast. Going 10-8 means we will be knocking our competition for a tourney spot.

At Xavier, Butler,GTown, Nova...Depaul, Xavier and Hall at home. Guys need to get consistent quick.

in our next 10, we have really good opps to get quality wins.. Need to split on road with butler, gtown Xavier and nova and take care of biz at home.  If they can get 2 marquee wins on road and take 2 of 3 against  hall gtown and Xavier, puts us in great shape. The key in that equation is whomever they lost to at this point and rest of way, they have to split.

This providence win is huge, not only cause they swept but gives us wiggle room to lose 2 to nova, which in my mind is most likely to happen.

Sweep Marq, combined with sweep of prov and get swept by nova puts us at 10-8 in conf. Should finish in top 5 and a win in tourney gets us dancing.

team is capable of finishing strong if they are consistent, no more injuries.  A tall task considering what we have seen.  If they play like today or the Duke game 7-8 wins very possible, if not likely.  If they are up and down, as they have been, hello NIT and hope for Cuse-SJU in the Garden

Good post WASJU.
I don't think we need to go 8-2 to finish. I am certain that 9-9 gets the job done in an extremely tough Big East provided that we don't lose at home to Creighton or Depaul.

The RPI is strong at #51 (considering the slide of late) and a win @Butler will send us inside the top 40.  The losses don't scare me.

We've lost to #6,#7, #9, #16, and #39 in the RPI.  Our only kind of bad losses were  conference games @ Creighton and @ Depaul.  Long Beach State and St. Mary's are rolling  (6-1 and 9-2 in conference, respectively).  Syracuse is turning in a solid ACC season (5-3 #62 RPI).  Minnesota just beat Nebraska tonight to go to #99 in the RPI and have won 3/5 Big 10 games after the awful conference start.

I'd be disappointed with 9-9, though. Very.  Butler is a huge game. There is no way around it.  Not only will it give the RPI a huge boost, it would prevent a sweep, give us a quality win over a top 20 RPI and tournament team, and put us in the driver's seat for a 6-5 or 7-5 record just in time for one of Lavin's February runs.

I wouldn't look at 9-9 as in. You have to also count the BET games as those will probably be the most important games. If we go 9-9 and lose in the first round of the BET that would put us at 9-10. We are not getting in at 9-10. However, If we go 9-9 and lose on Saturday of the BET that would make us 11-10 and probably on the right side of the bubble

Syracuse is turning in a solid ACC season (5-3 #62 RPI).

The five Syracuse wins have been against the five worst teams of the ACC: Virgnia Tech (1-7 in ACC games), Georgia Tech (1-8), Florida State (3-5), Wake Forest (2-7) and Boston College (1-7).

Syracuse has not played yet against Virginia, Notre Dame, Louisville or Duke.

9-9 + 1 BE tourney win get us in.  Does 8-10 + 2 BE wins get it done?

I think we need 8 more wins however you slice it up.  Moose may be right that 7 more in conf play does the trick but I think we'd all be on here biting our fingernails and cursing baldi telling us his source on the committee is telling him we aren't in because he was offended by rysheeds tweet and is holding it against us.

8 more. Gonna be a tough road.  I expect to win one less than we need, whatever that number is :-/

I think Big East gets 5 or 6 teams in.  We need to climb to fifth place...essentially ahead of Xavier and Seton Hall to feel good IMO

How bout this, dont get swept by anyone in conference and we are in.  There are plenty of other ways to do it, but if we dont get swept were in.
