Big day with Heron visiting the second time in a month.  Keeping fingers crossed for a commitment.  He wants to commit this summer... No better time than today...😉

Told there is no Heron visit today. Apparently a NCAA contact issue, not to worry. I am not an expert in that regard, just sharing what I heard just now from local scribe.

Can't visit UNOFFICIALLY in July per NCAA rules.  So you can visit up until 7/6 but they need to be official visits.

Then starting 7/6 is a Dead Period (No visits) EXCEPT of course for the 3 designated Evaluation Periods first being 7/8 thru 7/12 where coaches will be on the road.

Then his team will compete in a series of best of seven series that will all go 7 games and he will decide sometime after that. No wait then school will start...his senior year of hoops will start... etc. etc. etc.  ;) :) Best we all have some patience.

Kid would feel more at home in Queens than Oregon or North Carolina, no?

I hope he has some relatives in Astoria...

Not sure how old this is:

Mustapha Heron said Kentucky reached out after his strong showing at the Pangos AA Camp. Being open, patient since decommitting from Pitt.

When asked if he had an idea of where his son might be going he responded enthusiastically, "[My son's] loving SMU, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama, St. John's, and Maryland."

His father then outlined a loose schedule of upcoming visits saying, "We will visit all of the schools between August and September. Mississippi State will be on August 27th."

The shooting guard already took an unofficial visit a month ago with St Johns. The Johnnies must have left a lingering taste on his palate because they remained on his school list. Heron spoke to NYCHoops.net back then saying he enjoy his visit at the Queens, NY campus.

Assuming those are his final 6 and he wants to visit all of them he probably takes his 5 officials to the non-area schools.

@AdamFinkelstein: Mustapha Heron: "I haven't completely cut my list but those are the ones I'm favoring." St. J's, Maryland, Bama, Auburn, Miss. St, SMU, Marq

Can't blame him for enjoying the attention

As long as he ends up here I am fine with it. It doesn't sound like he has made up his mind like a lot of people here seem to think. We will see what happens.

@AdamZagoria: Mustapha Heron says he's known Slice since he was a kid through his dad and has a good relationship, but lists 7 schools.

@AdamZagoria: Heron says he will likely commit in the fall and then support Alkins/talk to him about where he's going. Rawle committing in spring.
