The announcement of the Volvo’s Biggest Fan of the Big East is just 48 hours away. I’ve extended my reach beyond St. John’s and beyond the world wide web to inform people about Volvo and my passion of St. John’s basketball. From the local bank, US Post Office, and to the nurses of Jersey Shore Hospital anyone and everyone knows that I root for St. John’s Basketball. Now they know about the new “naughty” VolvoS60 too.
There is never a moment not seized to share what I do for St. John’s Basketball fans with JohnnyJungle.com and I’ve loved including Volvo into the mix this season. I’ve worked harder than anyone to make this site a daily destination for St. John’s fans. The countless nights of staying up till 4:00AM updating the site after games because I had to drive 2 hours home from New York and then going to work the next morning. People thought I was kidding when I said I got 4 hours of sleep a night during the season. (It’s 3:00AM now it’s early). Just like Volvo, St. John’s has such strong tradition of excellence and this year is all about rebirth. As Volvo is getting more “naughty” with the S60, St. John’s is having a renaissance of its own bring the buzz back to the New York city and the Big East. It’s been great participating with fellow Big East Alumni and some of them have taken notice to recognize myself as the Biggest Fan of the Big East.
Margot Inzetta– Cincinnati
I have been competing in the Biggest Fan of the Big East for several months now with tons of other great Big East fans! However, after months of tweeting, blogging, video uploading, etc., one competitor has really made the competition tough for me as he as stood about above all of the rest with his persistent support of the St John’s basketball team. Every game he is actively tweeting, engaging with others on twitter (including me, even when the bearcats beat St John’s early in the season), writing game recaps immediately following the game, and encouraging conversation from others to show and share their support for the St John’s basketball team. I Have really enjoyed following him this Big East basketball season and I really hope to see him win as the Biggest Fan of the Big East. Through his presence online and at the games (he travels far and wide to see his team compete live), he has proven that he by far is the biggest fan and supporter of his basketball team.
Matthew Ryter– Providence
Its been a pleasure getting to know Dave through this challenge. Every time I log onto twitter it seems like Dave has another article up on his site or has something to say about the games being played the previous night. Seriously I had to stop following him on twitter for awhile. He works his tail off for his site and I think it shows.
Like the run his Johnnies are having this year I think it would only be fitting that he won this competition and got to watch his alma mater on their home floor in the worlds most famous arena.
Brian Ewart– Villanova
Dave has clearly been the Biggest Fan from the beginning to the very end of this contest. The work that he puts into JohnnyJungle.com is outstanding and its clear the St. John’s basketball community is impacted by his passion. I’ve really enjoyed engaging with Dave on twitter daily exchanging tweets about St. Johns, Villanova, Big East, and beyond.
Dave and I actually took a road trip to Philly together to see St. John’s play Villanova at Wells Fargo Center. Dave was a great sport tailgating in the parking lot filled with the Nova Nation. Who else besides the Biggest Fan of the Big East would do that? Dave deserves to be named the Biggest Fan of the Big East and I truly hope he wins.
Dan Daitchman– Marquette
I was surfing MUScoop.com, the most popular message board for Marquette basketball fans, one day and saw that Dave had posted there. He’s actually been posting there for over 3 years. He gave Marquette fans some insight on St. John’s and he even provided some information on our recruits. What opposing fan goes to another team’s board and posts regularly there?
Dave also did a Q&A on my blog prior to St. John’s playing Marquette which was very informative to my readers. I’ve really enjoyed tweeting with Dave throughout the season and hope that he gets picked by Volvo to be the Biggest Fan of the Big East. He’s really shown to me that he is.
Ashley Kanoff– Pittsburgh
It’s been so much fun participating in the Big East contest with Dave. He tweets to me about the Pittsburgh Zoo (student section) during their games and its been fun seeing how much of an impact he has on St. John’s fans. They interact with him so much and brings so much more school spirit to St. John’s.
His site is awesome and it really shows how much passion he has towards Big East basketball and I think Dave should be named the Biggest Fan of the Big East. I hope to see Dave in the Vovlo he deserves it!
Matt Whitfield– West Virginia
Dave Krupinski is clearly a Big East Basketball FANATIC! Despite being only several years out of college Dave operates the successful Johnny Jungle website. Clearly Dave is passionate about St. John’s basketball. In my eye Dave deserves to be named the biggest fan in the Volvo Biggest Big East Fan campaign.
Laurel Mills– Georgetown
Dave Krupinski isn’t lying when he says that he’s the sixth man on the St. John’s basketball team. The guy even follows high school games to know what the recruiting classes are going to look like. Also based on his Twitter habits, I’m pretty sure he’s telling the truth about only sleeping four hours a night, too. I think he just might be the true Biggest Fan of the Big East.
Celena Gill – Rutgers
It was great meeting Dave at the Big East Media Day. He has been a dedicated and ardent St’ John’s fan. If the contest were based on pure fan loyalty, Dave would be the easy winner. St. John’s basketball fans are just a click away from the latest updates and news because of Dave’s persistence and dedication. He truly deserves to be named the Biggest Fan of the Big East!
Jenna Broughton– South Florida
There is no doubt that Dave is a Big East fan! Throughout the entire Volvo Big East challenge he has been completely committed to both his team and the conference. Moreover, his undying devotion is further displayed by the effort he puts into JohnnyJungle.com where he has chronicled the entire basketball season. This type of spirit shows that he just may be the Biggest Big East fan!
