The 6-foot-4 New York Rens guard Luther Muhammad had a solid outing at the Peach Invitational Tournament. One of the most premier shooters in the country, Muhammad, spoke about what he is currently working on to expand his overall game and the latest with his recruitment.
Obviously as players, the main goal is to get better overall each day. The Hudson Catholic product touched on what he wants to work on as the summer goes on and says that he is more of a combo guard.
“Basically still being a point guard,” said Muhammad. “Knowing when to take over, knowing when to get my team involved, talking, playing defense, all little stuff that leads to great point guards,” he said. “I’m a combo… I play point and I play the two,” the four-star guard stated when asked about his true position.
Jumping to recruiting, he stated that he has an official visit set up to Xavier on September 15-17 and plans to visit Syracuse and Ohio State. He also broke down what has been going on and went into detail about St. John’s and Notre Dame.
St. John’s: “Basically come in ready to go… I know I say this every interview but come in from day one and being ready to go. They’re going to put me in a lot of ball screens, let me make reads. They got trust in me from day one to make the right reads, come off ball screens and basically play my A-game and be ready to work from day one.”
Notre Dame: “Well, one great academics of course, everyone knows that. Two, they’re more of a move the ball team and I can play that way to so it helps. They’re more of a pass, fadeaway screen, pass/cut, ball-screen, slip. They play… they’re more of a move the ball around type team.”
