With all the talent coming in next year one had to figure that there would be some transfers this year. With Malik Stith and Quincy Roberts being the only two guys seemingly on the chopping block after Lavin’s monster 2011 recruiting class. It’s of no surprise that one is on their way out.
Roberts, the redshirt sophomore, is making a mid-year transfer from the team. Roberts was not with the team last night during their win over Davidson in the first round of the Holiday Festival Tournament.
Close friends to the situation confirmed these reports today stating he wasn’t getting the playing time felt he should be given. No word though on the school to which he is transferring too.
With the addition of 6 top 100 recruits and JUCO transfer Nurideen Lindsey, Roberts playing time wouldn’t have gotten any better next year once the current 10 seniors graduated.
Roberts appeared in four games this year averaging 7.8 minutes per contest and only 1.0 points per game.
We here at Johnny Jungle wish the Harrisburg, Pennsylvanian much success with his new school and career.
