QUEENS, N.Y. (Aug. 24, 2010) – More than 100 new St. John’s men’s basketball season ticket holders were able to meet head men’s basketball coach Steve Lavin and select seat locations for the 2010-11 campaign on Tuesday night at Carnesecca Arena.
The St. John’s University Department of Athletics hosted its first annual “Select Your Seat Day,” where new season ticket subscribers were able to choose from available seating sections in Carnesecca Arena and Madison Square Garden for the upcoming year.
As a bonus, those in attendance were able to get up close and personal with the Red Storm’s new bench boss and his staff. Assistant coaches Tony Chiles and Rico Hines, Director of Operations Moe Hicks and Assistant to the Head Coach Derrick Wrobel were all in attendance to talk basketball with season subscribers. Johnny Thunderbird helped fans select their seats as well.
“It was a fantastic first-time event for us at Carnesecca Arena,” said St. John’s Ticket Manager Melissa Manno. “It was wonderful to see so many new Red Storm supporters come out, and it was especially terrific to welcome old and new faces for the 2010-11 season. Many of our fans were also able to meet Coach Lavin up close for the first time. It was a great success, and will be even bigger next season.”
New season ticket holders that could not be in attendance on Tuesday can call 1-888-GO-STORM (1-888-467-8676) to schedule an appointment with a ticket manager on Wednesday, Aug. 25 or Thursday, Aug. 26 and choose their seats at that time.
Season ticket holders enjoy the best seats available at all regular season home games, while saving on individual game ticket prices. They also receive an exclusive St. John’s Season Ticket Holder gift, and have the first opportunity to purchase additional tickets to premium games and post season tournaments (based on availability). To reserve tickets for the 2010-11 season, call 1-888-GO-STORM (1-888-467-8676).
