they also gotta bench player named ren. idk if he will get in but if does, something along the lines of ren and stimpy should be in order. and yeah hicks should be easy to get on

Calm Before the Storm is up....Garrett had to take the day off for school so Mason Nettleton filled in with the report.

liu was picked by virtually every publication to finish last in the nec...i predict a clean sweep of the four nec teams we played.

how's that for going out on a limb?

Well Sacred Heart was picked first so what does that tell you about preseason publications? I hope you are 110% right though....25 posts I'm ready to play with someone's karma now. Anyone see "Along Came Polly" 50! "Who yells 50 when they orgasm?"

Very unusual LIU stat:

Their top 2 scorers come off the bench.

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/teams/lal/stats;_ylt=Anakao6bklie1.p6eem_aldk07YF

Appears like they play a 3 or 4 guard offense
Their guards rebound well- 4 players avg 5+ rebs/game

That's funny... i have a really GOOD feeling about this game. As long as the refs aren't on the take & LIU doesn't shoot 80% from beyond the arc. We should be alright... especially with Mase coming back.. ;D .. peace!

i wouldnt underestimate them considering tj will be out and this will be mase's first game back

if burrel gets into foul trouble this could be a bad game to see

Considering our history, nothing should ever seem to be an "easy game".  Play hard (like in the second half of the FDU game) and we ought to be fine.

"That's why they play the game" as they say.

only reason i have a bad feeling, is cause history has shown us, at least during norm's era is that we have at least one major disappointment early in the season.  we've played so well up to this point, it almost seems like we're due for bad night....

we shall see....

we shouldnt have a let down especially since its Mase's first game...we should take care of business...I'm more worried about heading on the road to Miami...we haven't done well on the road and it seems we never play well in Florida

from what i am hearing the chances are low on tj playing

his knee could use the rest

Post by: Alleyoops on November 27, 2007, 10:04:28 PM
Give him the rest now.  We'll need his minutes against Miami.  We *should* get by without him tomorrow.

Geno-Wright-Kennedy-Mase-Burrell to start -- I hope!

we don't need tomas tomorrow at all. They are so small this team DJ could play center. If we don't wax this team by 20+ i'll be upset

we should be fine against this team as long as we continue the same effort from last game against FDU

who's going to the game tonight?
Title: Re: St. John's vs. LIU
Post by: jmac6311 on November 28, 2007, 10:26:51 AM
Is norm going with a small lineup tonight?  I think he should as Tomas and Coker just slow the team down.  Without them we can run all over this team.

Since there is no TV and we are on radio tape delay is someone at the game able to keep us  updated?

It'll be live on internet radio.  I think.

I can't wait until St. John's wins enough games to stay on television.

dele will prob start whether or not he plays more than 15 minutes depends on how he does

Assuming Mase is playing & Tomas not,

then DJ should definitely start over Dele

I heard on Mike and the Dog that Manhattan paid for their game vs Fordham to be on TV.  How much $ would something like that cost???

They did say he was a relative of the goat...had a couple of nice drives to the hoop...

JB was a monster on the boards...Kennedy keeps stuffing the stat sheet....Wright was hobbled most of the game with a hip injury...lack of 3 point shooting kept them in the game.

A little sloppy but at least we are winning the games we are supposed too.

Mason was rusty and then came down on his ankle...hobbled off...my guess is he won't play against Miami...

were the chants any good?
Title: Re: St. John's vs. LIU

chants were pretty solid, we got on the refs a lot cuz they were incredibly horrible. only thing is its like pulling teeth to get anyone who isnt in the student section to stand up and cheer.

I HATE to hear that Mason perhaps re-injured his ankle. That is AWFUL news. Hope the team wasn't to quick to bring him back. Larry Wright limping is not a great sign either. A "W" is a "W", but can we just avoid the goddamn injury bug for once??!!  >:(

It is kinda pathetic how unresponsive the rest of the crowd is. For nearly the entire second half, the far side of the Jungle was motioning for the fans in the next section to get up, or make some noise or anything and they just sat there. The 10 people from LIU made more noise than most of our crowd (obviously excepting the Jungle).

Honestly, it wasn't encouraging to defeat LIU by only 12 but I cannot understand how, despite the possible feeling of disappointment of struggling a bit with an inferior opponent, someone could feel no excitement in a close game or no feeling towards that one ridiculous ref who was dead-set against us.
