So the '17 class should be the one to see if the staff can start connecting with more than one top 20 players. Imho, '16 will be tough to pull off 2 or more top 50 players

@3ricHampford: Tre Duval is cooking right now. Looks more explosive than my last viewing. Electric scorer with playmaking ability. #Top100Camp
@CourtsideFilms: Trevon Duval was unguardable in his 1st game @Top100Camp - @DatGuy_Trey was dunking everything & droppin dimes left and right #Top100Camp

Could you compare him to Briscoe at a similar stage Dave?

Not sure what our chances are with this kid because I have a feeling all of the Blue Bloods will be on him by the time he is ready to commit but he does say nice things about SJU from his recent visit:
On Tuesday, Duval told RedStormReport.com that he is impressed with St. John's. "It's a good school. It's in New York City. I was born there so it's kinda like home." Originally from Jamaica Queens, the NY Native said that a lot of his family still resides there.
In addition to the family ties, Duval said that St. John's offers "a big stage.
"St. John's head coach Chris Mullin spoke to Duval over the phone a couple weeks ago relayed his thoughts about what the point guard could bring to the table. "[Mullin] thinks that I'm a guard who can make an influence on the program immediately." Duval added that Coach Mullin believes that he can the Johnnies get wins as well as help the PG get to the next level.
While SJU is high on his list, Duval has a plethora of offers. In addition to St. John's, Duval said that he recently got offers from Arizona, Duke, North Carolina, UCLA, Villanova, Syracuse and California. As far as a timetable on make a commitment, Duval said there isn't one. "When it happens, it happens," he said.

@AdamZagoria: Trevon Duval may visit St. John's http://t.co/1RaPiDZbwk

This is a big time player right here. It may be tough to get him but Mullin and staff should continue pursuing him hard. Trevon Duval will make it big, he's that good.

I wish but no shot now that he's in Texas. Would be waste of resources

Duke...

Duke...
He'd be a great fit anywhere. Could be Melo Trimble's replacement at Maryland too
-
Slice in Dallas seeing Duvall, per Zags
-
I like staff is trying hard but I think there is zero chance he would commit to us
-
Yeah, very tough get.

Ponds and him seem to have a relationship.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Ponds and him seem to have a relationship.
They were playing against each other in that all star game in the city last summer for a while. It was pretty even.

Very unlikely that Slice would travel halfway across the country to pursue a kid he has no chance on.

From the article he sounds like a good kid. He's looking for a school that really wants him and fits his style. I like that he said the name of the school doesn't matter, more kids should adopt this thinking.

Hearing UCLA or Maryland. Under Armour connection huge.

Clever :)

6 will turn to 10 turn to 3 turn to 12 turn to 1 maybe none
-
Haha soooo true, Dave. The top 5 did not include us by the way, as expected. Maybe we'll be included when he releases his top 12. Better we focus on others anyway

Several of those dudes are so "easy."
Nowadays, the "big fish" in high school basketball are awaiting offers from the "major" blue-bloods. Those are Kentucky, Duke, and Kansas. So, it's becoming harder for many programs to land those particular players due to the "one and done" and the perceived look those players get, per the NBA, by playing at the schools I named above.
It's about the ducats for these kids, and they're gonna continue to migrate to the schools that can help 'em sufficiently and expediently reach their goal. Again, it's the perceived look of these schools, but you can bet those same staff's start pushing data and analytics and, frankly, those numbers don't lie. So, this is where we are in college basketball.
IMO, this is why Tremont Waters won't pop for UConn, Georgetown, or any other school not named UK, Duke, or Kansas. He's waiting for an offer from one or all of the latter-mentioned schools.

Jordan Walker committing two weeks ago was the writing on the wall. They really need Delgado back.
-
My friends who are Hall fans thought they had a great shot. Now they are just pissed about Delgado, which IMO is 100% the right move for the kid given his age and position.

I was half joking. He wasn't going to SHU 5months ago or now.
I knew you was joking around. But, several of those dudes on their board are "easy." Meaning, several were gullible enough to believe Duval was leaning towards attending Seton Hall.
They really need Delgado back.
He's not coming back. I believe he's already signed with an agent.

I think you can add UNC, Arizona, UCLA to Kansas, Duke, and KY
