Missouri statement

Statement from #Mizzou:

Michael Porter, Jr. will undergo surgery on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Dallas, Texas. The procedure, a microdiscectomy of the L3-L4 spinal discs, has a projected recovery time of three-four months and will likely cause him to miss the remainder of the season.

That sucks for the kid and Mizzou (more so for the kid than the school).  He's likely gone after this season, regardless.

Big news out of Missouri: Michael Porter Jr. out for year with back surgery. No reason St. John's can't get to final down in Orlando now. Start with Oregon State Thursday. #sjubb

Why wouldn't he come back next year?
He's probably be a 2nd rounder if he enters the draft, with the risk factor.

I think he'll come back next year to prove his health.
Then be a top 5 pick.

In your dreams he'll last 'til the 2nd round.  Some team will still take a chance on him.

Obviously still a top 10 pick by somebody if he drops at all.  If he heals in 4 months and looks good at pre draft camps he probably doesn't drop out of the top 3.   He'd have dropped more by playing all year and not dominating.

By some team you mean one at or near the top of the first round. Team doctors just need to make sure he is healthy or will be.

Top, middle, or bottom of the first round.  But, all he needs is one team to take a chance, as there's only one team who can draft him.

Regardless, I believe you get the idea.  2nd round....  Pffft.

Without Porter Mizzou might not be an NCAA Tournament team but they are close. They have some seniors and two legit freshmen big men that would be huge problems for us if we happen to play them on Friday.
