*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

If we had a big name coach, he'd be wearing red right now.

If Norm said he'd be playing PG then he'd be in red right now.

ironic thing is, right now we need a point guard.  we had our chance at two NYC pg's, bryant and syl (although i think he's more of a point-forward)

I blame it all on that nut running around campus with a gun

It was never the case...    the kid wanted to go away and had a chance for the level of basketball at a MUCH MUCH MUCH better school...

Good luck to him. .   love seeing kids from the city do well...

28/8/8. this man is unbelievable. would it be reasonable to expect the same from omari or hardy?

ok, HOLD UP PEOPLE.  He had a great debut, but they played VMI.  A fast paced team.  Anyone's gonna put up big numbers in a game like that.  No doubt, he was nice, but don't look at just the numbers in isolation against a team that puts up shots D'Antoni style.  Consider that for a minute.  Not saying I don't wish he was playing 36 minutes for St. John's.

His line is pretty nice, all that said. 8-11 from the line, 3 steals.  That team will need him to be the man night in and night out.

I'm saying, Syl's debut is only one (fast-paced) game.  In the Kentucky game, Jodie Meeks doubled his previous career high.  He's not twice as good as he was last year.  And I don't know what Gillispie does early season in with his Kentucky squad, Gardner-Webb and now this?  Just strange losses.  It's a good game and a win for Virginia, but take it with a grain of salt.

at this point i would take a grain of salt for this program. when was the last time a freshman scored 28 points in any game for SJU?
