I hope you would still love your kid if he picks against Michigan, geez. Seems like he's definitely going to Michigan because his dad is forcing it on him. Its a shame that a father would do that because this is the kids choice and he should choose what school he wants to go to, he's gotta be there the next four years.

The kid's father is emphatic, sounds like a "good" interview, where he says quotable things.  I think he's just being emphatic when he says he'll love his son the same way.  Parents often want their kids nearby, so they can watch them play and maintain their relationship with their child.  Or to maintain their awesome new home as one person intimated in this thread.  We'll see how it shakes out.

It can happen.  When I was looking at colleges my Dad was pushing me hard to go to his alma mater(his parents had both gone there and so had my older brother) but that is the last thing that I wanted.  It was in my top 2 schools but when it came down to picking I went with the other school, half because I liked it more and the other half to piss him off.

I hear that.  I was chomping at the bit to leave home, myself.  And isn't that what a lot of NYC is about?  Leaving where your from to try and make it in the fast-paced city?

My parents wanted me to go to Rutgers, Monmouth, or Stockton (all NJ schools). I needed a state buffer plus no better place to succeed than NYC. Truly my thoughts. My deciding factor was seeing St. John's beat Duke at the garden. St. John's sent my family and I tickets to see the game and it was just amazing.

I was at that St.John's game.

Took 7 people. All agreed with me, it was the best basketball game they've ever seen.

That's a cool story.

Michigan is the old St.John's, and we are the old Michigan.

I had someone tell me a little while ago he heard Wednesday at 4 p.m., but he also fed me some names regarding our March Madness that so far haven't surfaced, so take this with a big grain of salt.

His name is spelled Dominick.  I've been writing this for a month, but nobody wants to fix it.  It's a little disrespectful to the kid we are trying to show we want.

Sorry thats my fault I remember you posting that before.  I just changed the title of the thread and all posts from now on will display the correct name.  Thanks for pointing that out to us

Have you emailed Rivals to tell them the same thing since they have it as Dominique.  And Scout.  And ESPN.  And Zags.....

I've seen it both ways, though the Detroit news had it as Dominick.

So as not to offend the young man, we could just use "Dom" like Scout and ESPN do.
