Has there been any discussion by Steve Lavin about why the team is shooting  fewer three-pointers this season and why the percentages have also dipped?

This year, we're 77 for 247 (31.2%).
Hardy-29/99 29.3%
Kennedy 12/32 37.5%
Horne-11/28 39.3%

Last year, 190 for 568 (33.5%).
Hardy 54/141 38.3%
Kennedy 51/133 38.3%
Horne 44/119 37%

In my opinion, why we have shot less threes and made less is a couple of things.  One I think we have gone to more of an uptempo offense where we have looked to push and Lavin has tried to make these guys go back to just slashing to the basket.  We have had a lot of smaller lineups a lot of times where we have guys on the floor who dont shoot the three point shot well.  I also think although burrell has played better this year inside the paint, his passing ability is slow allowing guys to double him making his passes not as crisp and it allows defenders to close in one the kickout to make the guards three point shots more difficult.
Take a look at the other teams who have hit their threes, the passing has been crisp and fast and our guys can not close out fast enough giving teams good looks at threes.

The reason why I feel we have not shot the three as well is because teams watched our tapes and saw that the few guys in the beginning who were hitting threes, they knew certain defenses would make it more difficult to get open looks.  Last year almost all the teams in the big east played zone against us and I think might have not taken us so seriously from the outside and did not challenge as much.  Maybe if Brownlie and burrell can score more inside this will free up the outside shot for our guards.

I would bet you couldn't do that with nobody in your face.

Outside in the schoolyard, with the wind off the beach I could hit 40%

It's not that we're not hitting them, it's that we're not defending them.
If you can't hit them, stop taking them.
