Creighton Round 2
« on: February 05, 2015, 10:34:36 AM »
Not much to say here but wanted to get it started because game is only 2 days away. Must win in every sense of the word, even if not for out fading ncaa chances then just win for some pride. No open 3s! This time around we take it but I don't have much faith in saying it.

SJU 66
Creighton 62

Close win by Johnnies. Felix is rewarded for last game & plays 10 minutes. If not David Lipscomb. :)

Toby all day and night.

I believe he scored a total of two points since torching us. Only SJU can create heros overnight. :)

They just won, so they're warmed up to give us a fight. But I see a 4 point victory, 76-72

Not surprising.  My observations over the years indicate that The SJU priests put running a clean program, in every aspect, above all else. Witness the Pitt scandal, Dlo suspension, Jordan Suspensions etc.  Lavin is not going anywhere because he adheres to this point of view and the priests love it. Winning is definitely secondary to them.  If all schools thought like this college sports would be changed for the better.  Most schools given the Pitt scandal would have said things like, we are following the events closely, there is no solid proof yet or convictions etc....not decimate the team as SJU did.

St.John's 74, Creighton 60

Obekpa comes off the bench to score 13 points and block 5 shots. Harrison starts to find his form after a few days off (Hopefully) and scores 20 points.

I support a priest who feels that way, but under one condition: he has got to be an honest moral example himself. Our last priest wasn't. So who was he to make rules for others to follow?

Immediate decimation of the team was a good thing (including throwing a player out on the street-guess he wasn't putting out)? Who says priests get to make the decision?

Best ball movement we've had in the Lavin era...
