At 6-foot-8, Mike Nzei may be their biggest weapon as the member of the U18 Nigerian National team is from the same place in Nigeria as Obekpa.
He can bang down low to grab offensive rebounds, and has a soft shooting touch. His perimeter defense is excellent as he has a knack at hustling and and being an all-around team player.
Old Dominion and Iona have offered, but more should come soon as Nebraska, St. John's, Minnesota, Iowa State and Auburn are interested.
His skills could make him a high-major recruit for Our Savior New American, to go along with Diallo and Yakwe.

A pipeline of osna/team scan big men would work.

This team has plenty of verstatile athletes. It is time to add some skill.

The other osna kids are 15 and 16. No reason no to go after them

“@FrankieBur: There may not be a "quicker" jumper in high school hoops than Michael Nzei of Team Africa (Nigeria and Our Savior of New York).”

Adam Zagoria @AdamZagoria
2014 6-7 F Michael Nzei of Our Savior New American is leading adidas nations in rebounding & has been offered by Iowa, Iona, Hofstra, StJoes
Pitt and Oregon have also expressed interest in Michael Nzei, per Eric Jaklitsch

local kid who is very active around the basket, great attitude and personality. good hands suprisingly, not sure if he fits the mold of what were trying to recruit year in and out though

"Michael Nzei (6-7/Nigeria/Centerreach, NY, Our Savior/Team Africa): He’s one of elite power forward-prospects in the Class of 2014 and was the best rebounder in this event."
"His catch of a length-of-the-floor pass and ensuing dunk over the top of the 6-11 Myles Turner Sunday night was the most stunning sequence I witnessed over the four days."

@JonRothstein: 2014 PF Michael Nzei (6-8, Our Savior New American) has committed to Seton Hall, source told @CBSSports. Huge late pickup for Kevin Willard.

Was Lavin on this kid?

Was Lavin on this kid?
How could he not have been ? Must have been a preference of Thomas over him.
-
I beileve Auda leaving to play pro ball in Europe and unlikely that Delgado makes it on court. Still a good pickup.
-
Good pickup. They don't need studs...just strong kids willing to play their role down low. This kid is just what te doctor ordered for them. I'd trade Christian Jones for him in a second, but not my boy Keith Thomas.
-
I'm willing to give Christian Jones a fair shot going into the season. Been a long time since any of us have seen him play. Hopefully the year off helped. He has potential..
