A lot of people find it easier to get through difficult times with the support of their communities. Rysheed Jordan is a part of the St. John's community, which in my opinion, includes it's fans. It may not be the way you or I deal with things, but it seems that's how he does. I don't think it's anyone's place to tell him how to get through this. If he wants public support, then the onus is on us and anyone else who cares to provide it. Just my opinion...

+1. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery for Rysheed's Mom. No kid should lose his/her mother. This article, I think, illustrates the close bond Rysheed has with his mother.

For the last two seasons our head coach's Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/Teslavin) resembled the intake sheet at an emergency room. It was full of shootings and prostates and cancer and births and deaths. He couldn't shut up about it. And he's like 50. I don't recall you calling anyone out for discussing that. Perhaps I missed it.
Regarding RJ, perhaps he was seeking the prayers of the Saint John's faithful. Perhaps OP was as well. I'm not a religious fellow but I wouldn't deny either the solace it brings. It's like Sinatra said: whatever gets you through the night, be prayer, tranquilizers or a bottle of Jack Daniels.
