Big time rebounder from reading a few articles on him. This is just like when we had no three point shooters so Lavin went out and got Marco and Hooper, both one dimensional players that couldn't do enough in other facets of the game to be helpful. Hopefully De La Rosa, Thomas and Carter/Hamdy, if they decide to come, have more than just rebounding in their arsenal.

Found this piece from 2011 TOC event.  Ahmed went up against some good players, like Nerlens Noel back then. The full article link is below. Note some familiar names.

"Ahmed Hamdy 6-9 PF (2013) Houston, TX Trent International - Skilled face-up four man can knock down elbow jumper, or drop pass to the post. he has good feet around the hoop, but like most Euro-style players needs to add upper body strength to draw HM interest his skill set  will intrigue. He had 23 points and pulled down an impressive 13 boards versus Tilton showing that potential!"

When he checks into the game, they can play "Walk Like An Egyptian" at MSG. Maybe the STJ band can learn it?

Looks like he'd be a solid pickup.  Big athletic kid.  Looks like he got screwed and lost a year, so maybe eligible asap.  Would be great.

@SJUCoachLavin: Closing on 2014 Class. Carbone definitely a top-shelf dining experience. Tasty chow w/ great service. #NYC #SJUBB http://t.co/cFCq3BNjCW (http://t.co/cFCq3BNjCW)

Perhaps he visited with Henderson.
