I called Atlantis today for ticket availability update.  Was was told no information yet & not sure when.

Said hotel room could be reserved now (have to pay in full and can cancel w/o penalty with 15+ days notice.  Even if did book room would not automatically notify or assign tickets to desired games when they do become available.

Anyone potentially planning to make this trip in Nov. ?

Do you think waiting for "package" info is the best decision before making early room or flight reservations?  Seems premature to book airfare and hotel room (just to lock it up) only to find out for some reason I can't get tickets for St. John's games for some reason..

Big $$$ for this potential trip for a family though...a lot to consider and why I'm trying to figure out as much as I can

Thoughts would be appreciated....

It will be easy to purchase tickets from St Johns, we don't travel well as fans, especially to the Bahamas. I am going to start looking for a place to stay.

bit the bullet and booked airline tickets as I saw a direct flight for same price as 1-stop and there were only few seats left (leaving from Charlotte)

I may tentatively book reservation for Atlantis knowing they have free cancellation. I've noticed two things though.. The room rates keep going up... Within a week it went up +$50/day earlier this week, and then went up another $1.50/day from yesterday to today. Wondering if they play with online posted rates as it gets closer to weekend and more people are home on weekend and make travel arrangements. Kind of like a gas station.

I state this because I noticed on Gonzaga school sites for the 2015 event, it seems that the hotel part of the package was 20% off room rate if a 4 night stay and buying game tickets. 20% sounds good but may not be really 20% if they keep raising room prices from now until packages.

I have another e-mail into Atlantis asking if I book room now, and packages come out later would I still be able to get the special rate applied to existing reservation (could always cancel and/or re-do under wife name and card). Their e-mail customer service is pretty slow.. Usually 2+ days to get a response and they always preface it with an apology that the delay is due to computer problems.

I also saw that for 2015 event, most of the schools were posting ticket package availability around early May. Example : Syracuse

If you can afford it. Atlantis is an awesome place. Have fun. Great hotel, nice casino. Hope we win. If you couldn't afford you wouldn't have booked anything. Stop worrying. Again hope we win.

got a call from SJU athletic dept about a pre-tourney reception and some gear/giveaways at Atlantis...

Noted that Pres. Bobby Gempeshaw will be there

Said that there are about 40 alumni/fans as of today who bought tickets from Atlantis to sit in SJU section...

Ben Carter for MSU went down with a knee injury today that will likely have him miss significant time. Never root for injuries but this opens up HUGE opportunity to expose a young and thin front line. Bridges looks like he will be a factor from day 1 but hopefully Bash or Yakwe can keep in check and make their guards have to beat us.
