What  I love about him the most was his love already for SJU

Went to almost all the home games tried recruiting Alkins to come.

Maybe he is not as good as Alkins but his love for SJU is that I hope he has a great career at SJU and a successful pro career

Ponds had 16 and was named tournament MVP.  He hit some dagger free throws in crunch time to seal it.

Jeff's almost blew it when Ponds went out with his 4th foul.  He had an altercation that caused a double foul for his third and his coach should have sat him down to calm down.  Instead on the next pay he got his 4th.  He is excellent at driving to the hoop and has a nice teardrop shot but he needs to work on his shot range.  Good thing is that he will be surrounded by a better cast of players at SJU and not be expected to carry the team.  Don't expect the world of him in year one but let him develop..

This a question not a critique. Ponds and Harrison were rated around the same place. Why has almost anyone who has seen him saying we should temper expectations? Not saying ponds should and will be as good as Harrison . But I assume they should be close.
Almost all of Mullin's recruits are getting the same caution. Ahmed is first team all American, hardy and brownlee weren't . Is it reasonable to assume he will be an above average big east player?

We don't have to temper any expectations... We had one League win this season.  Nowhere but up to go and now we will have several legit guards.

I said from the day he signed that Harrison would go down as an all-time favorite and even predicted he'd score 40 at some point. His skills were so sharp and he had total control.

I feel the same way about Ponds with a few key differences:  (1) Ponds is an exponentially better athlete (2) Ponds has the tools to be a killer defender and (3) Ponds has a slighter build. Basically it boils down to Ponds having a higher ceiling but slightly lower floor. Ponds is a little more of a wild man...Hatten is the better comparison.

Another positive on Shamorie based on a local Brooklyn Newspaper.  he was named Brooklyn player of the year and he was also named to play in the Mayor;s trophy all star game.  He gave his place in the game to a teammate who is still looking for a scholarship so that he could play in the game which brings in a lot of recruiters.  Not only a very good player but unselfish--great teammate without the ego.  Props to the young man!!!!!!!!

Great teammate and he has actively tried to recruit others to come to St. John's. Very happy to have this kid on the team next season.

Does anyone know what time and day the Jordan Brand game will be? Also, which game is he in? Is it the national game, or the regional game?
