A lot can change in 2 years, but that's a really competitive field.

It is the premiere pre-season Tourney.  And it looks like the Big East (not the AAC) is getting consideration as the 6th "BCS" school.

Maui has a yearly tradition of inviting 1 team from each of the 6 BCS conferences, 1 really good mid-major and then Chaminade as the host school as it 8 invitees.

Kansas (BIg 12), UCLA (PAC 12), Vandy (SEC), Wake Forest (ACC), Indiana (Big 10), SJU (Big East), UNLV (Mid-major conference) and Chaminade.

My buddy from KU just texted me this.  I wish it was next year instead!  We'll be pretty green in 2015.

Who's to say the mountain west isn't the 6th conference and that we aren't the mid major invite? I kid ;)  great to be a part of a tourny like this.

Chaminade  is just looking forward to the future when the New BE returns to the glory that we built  with the league in the 70's 80's 90's and 00's.  When the time comes they might, as a  Catholic school,
be looking to join in with the rest of their brothers. :)

What a great field.!!Most off these teams have a strong  traditional programs.  St John's will be stepping up and putting itself on top 25. (2014) after this tourney.

Just to be sure we're on the same page.  This tournament is not next November but November 2015.  By that point Harrison, Dom, Branch and Phil will be gone.  Karr and Chris 'should' be Seniors and Jordan 'should' be a junior.  So 2015 might be a rough year for us.

Yeah I have to cover my options :)

I'd be shocked if 1 of the Karr, Chris, Jordan trio is here in 2015, let alone 2 or all 3 of them.  2015 is going to be a big haul in terms of #'s but they will be all first year players

St. John's will be in the Preseason NIT next year and then Maui the year after, source confirms to @SNYtv.

Preseason NIT we have to win games to get to MSG. Imagine if we lost and had to host the consolation games on campus like we did in 2008? What a disaster that was.

Yeah, I just remember how depressing those 2 consolation games at Carnesecca were. No more than 300 people in attendance.

2008-2009 season. We played Eastern Michigan and Loyola. They charged 30 dollars for the cheapest ticket and 15 dollars for student tickets and it wasn't included for season ticket holders.

2008-09 season, Norm's 5th season.  Old Pre-Season NIT had 16 teams but only 4 teams advanced to NYC and they were the only 4 to play a total of 4 games.  Then the format changed slightly when they let the early round "losers" play each other in various consolation games.

See Rutgers this year.  Rutgers lost to Drexel in 2nd round.  But then played Stillman College and FDU as part of the NIT.

Will par a real shame if we have 2 sub par teams for these two seasons as they would make 2 great vacations I would love to take with my wife and maybe some friends. Let's sign some good recruits to make these trips worth while or to be honest I would rather go to both places when we are not playing there to enjoy full time what other pleasures these locations have to offer and limit my basketball watching to less expensive venues. Would love to combine the two though and have a great incentive to go.

I think it's great if you're out there.  You're back at the hotel between noon-12:45, gives you all afternoon for pool, beach, or golf.  Plus, you can still do an activity in the evening, if you so wish.

Any other game time, and you're cutting into your day.
