@JonRothstein
St. John's will host Rutgers at MSG as part of the first ever Big East-Big Ten challenge, source told @CBSSports.  Date and time TBA.  #sjubb

Agreed.  I don't follow them since they left the BE, but I assume Rutgers will be terrible next year too.  A win will mean nothing, and a loss will be a resume killer.

Damn

It's a winnable game but the point of these matchup a was for exposure and schedule strength for the league. We get neither of those with a matchup against Rutgers.

We need to slow down a bit here and temper expectations

Honestly I would rather lose to a big boy than beat Rutgers.

I thought they might matchup Seton Hall with Rutgers for a NJ showdown but next year we could struggle while on paper Seton Hall should be pretty good.

This game won't be part of season tickets. We may not be the headliner. Do you guys remember when we played Georgia before UCONN played Kentucky? Their were less then 100 fans at the start of our game. This is one of the worst possible outcomes. Rutgers sucks. We will get a win. But we will have the same amount of fans for a Fordham game. St. John's vs Michigan would have been fun.

Thanks. That would make sense then.

Based on our projected roster I will happily take this matchup next year.  Will all 10 Big East teams be playing?
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

Agree. Hoping it's not a home and away kind of deal though.

I was hoping we and Providence would play Michigan/Michigan State combo at MSG.  Would think other Big 10 team in doubleheader will be Michigan as BIG NYC following against possibly SH or Providence

This is the most uninteresting inter-conference matchup ever.  I'd much rather have the second to last big ten team instead of a re-tread that was just in our league a few years ago.  This is almost as exciting as DePaul re-hiring a coach that was already fired once.
