The forward says he currently holds interest from, "St Johns, Villanova, Siena, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Michigan State, Alabama, Georgia, Arizona, USF, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Iowa, Arkansas, DePaul, Cincinnati, and Washington.". Over the summer Boswell says,, "Pitt, Rutgers, and Houston have [also] offered me." This fall, Boswell will be adding two new schools to his offer list. "I have new offers from George Mason and Virginia Tech. Cincinnati is showing major interest," said Boswell.

Despite being just a rising sophomore, Boswell is receiving interest from schools all across the country in every conference, as he is one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2013 class. All of the attention can be expected for a recruit who checks in at 6'6" 178, play at St. Patrick's, and is a cousin of incoming Duke freshman Kyrie Irving.

It is not just all hype either, as Boswell possesses amazing skills at his age and has dominated his age group nationally for years. He projects as an elite small forward prospect and is already drawing comparisons to 2011 standout Harrison Barnes.

"Honestly, I feel like I am at least top 5 in my class. I am not too worried about rankings though. I know there are a lot of great players out there, but when I play against the top players I destroy them. At my size, I can just do things that other kids can't. My skill set sets me apart."

While the 6-foot-6 guard is not a native of New Jersey, he does attend school in the Garden State. Boswell, a Bronx native who runs with the Long Island Lightning, plays for Coach Kevin Boyle at St. Patrick's. With an excellent jumper and ability to dribble, Jason is extremely versatile for his age and can play multiple positions.

Rutgers also offered Boswell.

"I know Rutgers and it is very close to home," said the Bronx native. "My good friend Mike Poole will be an incoming freshman there."

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — Jason Boswell, one of the top prospects in the Class of 2013, could decide on a school as early as next summer.

“Maybe by the summer of my sophomore year, beginning of my junior year,” the 6-foot-7, 176-pound Boswell said Tuesday.

Boswell, one of several young stars at Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick, cited the NCAA’s proposals to eliminate July men’s basketball recruiting in 2012 as a reason why he might commit early.

“Just to get the process over with,” he said. “The new rule about the NCAA, how they might not be able to recruit you in the summer of 2012, so I’m trying to get it over with.”

Boswell holds offers from Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State and Hosftra. He has visited Syracuse, St. John’s and Seton Hall unofficially.

“[I have] no favorites,” he said. “I like to keep my options open.

As for what he’ll bring to a school, Boswell said, “I’m a very versatile player. I like to get people involved but I can score the ball.”

During current Duke freshman Kyrie Irving’s senior year, St. Patrick was banned from the New Jersey state tournament in 2010, but Boswell said Kentucky-bound wing Michael Gilchrist and the Celtics want to win the New Jersey Tournament of Champions and earn a No. 1 national ranking this year.

“We’re looking to win the states this year and be the No. 1 ranked team because I don’t think we’ve been No. 1,” he said.

Boswell listed Seton Hall, Rutgers, Pitt, and Cincinnati as the schools that have offered him thus far. In addition, Boswell and LI Lightning coach Shandue McNeill noted that Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Villanova, and a "couple ACC schools" are amongst the other programs expressing interest in the rising junior.

No school has risen to the top of Boswell's list as a favorite. He has had a quite a bit of interaction with Villanova players and coaches, though.

I'm sure the commute got a whole lot longer when the budget at St' Pat's was significantly impacted by Boyle's leaving.

Very impressive numbers, has anyone seen him play?

Couple times last season in AAU.  Wasn't impressed as he got lost in the shuffle a lot.  Which was surprising because there was a lot of hype around him when he first got to St. Pat's.  He's a tweener in size which is tough.  Obviously staff sees something if they are these games.

What happened to this kid?

See my Port Chester CYP thread in the College/HS Sports forum.  He's still around but he's nothing special.

No, no, no, no.
Why?

I don't know Dave's reasoning Gonzalo but he's just not that good.  He has stayed in the area all thru HS and haven't heard a peep about his game.

Also its not really a position of need.
