A bit different but almost the same. One difference is that it will be a lot harder to move up the ranks as the 6th man will be the highest as you work your way from being in the school, to on the team, to the 6th man. I am thinking about making a thread only visible to those who hold the 6th man rank to make them privy to inside information.

I think that's a poor idea.  Encourages people to flood the board with nonsense posts.  If you're going to do this, I'd suggest it be by invitation only.  This way the board doesn't get flooded with utter crap/nonsense.
