Thought UCLA was going to land Ray as a "sleeper" early this year - he was looking at reclassifying to 2013. But then Howland was fired, and lead recruiter Kory McCray was also let go (as the one article notes - he's now recruiting Kasongo for LSU).
-
Even with a recruit from Wisconsin we are going head to head with Providence. Does shurinaCheese tip off Ed to everyone Lavin is recruiting? ::)
-
With Abu out f the mix, I'd like to see us go hard for this kid. Big, strong kid who is great on the boards and excellent athlete. Wont be ranked because he's Canadian, but kid is nice PF with seemingly high major talent.

Fwiw from FSU blog two days ago;
And XRM's friend Ray Kasongo (Toronto) hasn't named official finalists, but they are LSU, Oregon, and Florida State.

Would love Lavin to pull a rabbit out his hat and get 1 of the following :Dastrup,Chuwku,Okonibor,or Larrier, but it looks unlikely. Delarosa is beginning to look good. That said, it is still early and we could always hit the JUCO route for a big.

Dastrup cut us from his final list.

I have to think we will be active in the early season transfer market.

The others don't look to promising. What quality bigs are considering us seriously? The problem w transfers is they have to sit out a year, and we could really use another big for 14-15. Of course if Sampson and CO don't leave that's another story. But the odds are we will loose one of the two. I think Sampson.

I think that's why Chudney said early season transfer, I'm assuming he meant after 1st semester which would allow a player to practice with the team through mid December 2014 and be ready for conference play next year.

We don't have any scholis for Dec transfer.

Phyllis Diller and Joan Rivers starting to look good too now!

Phyllis Diller and Joan Rivers in a little "girl on girl" action sounds intriguing. LOL!

Didn't know Joan Rivers and Simplyred were both necrophiliacs. ;)

I don't mean to sound negative because I know Lavin will get kids.. but they have Daniel Hamilton and Rodney Purvis coming in next year.. If they are struggling then we are floundering.

Don't you think its a matter of time before Hamilton opts out.
I think what the OP was mentioning was the two kids from this year and the city aren't eligible right? And then they struck out on 14 to date with the exception of Hamilton.

They also got a very well thought of power forward recently. I wasn't saying they are doing well.. Just magnifying the word struggling in comparison to where we stand at this point for 2014. No clue how long Hamilton stays with his pledge .. But between him and purvis that team will pass zero times a possession. :)

What power forward? For '14? I didn't see anyone listed on Rivals besides Hamilton.

Familiar name back on the market;
@GoodmanESPN: Oregon signee Ray Kasongo has been denied admission to the school, source told ESPN. Canadian big man back on market, should be in demand.

@AdamZagoria: To varying degrees, Oregon, Kansas, Memphis, Cal, Indiana and MSU have now come and gone for @raykasongo32
"Handler" problem apparently.

Committed Friday to Southern Idaho or something like that so it's too late Ted. ;)

I wonder who "intercepted" him at the airport. If it was another college coach, they should be punished. This is reall odd.

Too bad we can't add Kasongo today. We could sure use him, provided he got out of the airport and onto campus.
FWIW, Ray Kasongo redefines the term "mystery recruit".
-
I hope somebody is making sure he is going to classes.
-
He seems to be "complicated" recruit. Rest assured of due diligence on this one.
-
I think if we get Briscoe, the pieces will fall into place...we may need another piece before Briscoe falls into place....last week multiple sources very, very, very close to Briscoe said he was "coming" Things change though and they clearly like to please people.....look what was said at and after the Missouri visit. We can only hope.

If he's eligible, and no drama he'd be a great recruit for us. Good frontcourt player.
-
If he comes we will be crossing our fingers till he actually steps on the floor. A bonus but can't rely on him.
-
@GoodmanESPN: Former Oregon signee Ray Kasongo will officially visit Mississippi state tomorrow, source told ESPN.
