I hoping this thread is a place where questions can be asked and more knowledgeable posters can supply factual answers.
For starters, can someone explain Adonis DelRosa's eligibility status for next year? Thanks
-
Everyone knows the answer. They're just keeping it from you.
-
Question: What is need for this thread? :)

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I think the only person who can answer that is the NCAA.

Thanks Dave at least that's an answer. ..... guess we just have to wait.

If a man, A, who weighs 11 stone leaves from his home at 8:30 in the
Morning in a car whose consumption is 16.25 mpg at an average speed of 40
M.p.h. to his office which is 12 miles away. And he stops for a coffee on
The way for 15 minutes and also puts air in one of his tyres which has a
Slow puncture letting out air at a rate of 2 lbs per square inch per mile
Travelled when the car is moving at 32 m.p.h. and he picks up a hitch-hiker
B who weighs 14 stone plus suitcase But hitch-hiker B who is a political
Activist distributes leaflets from his suitcase each of which weigh an
Ounce at the scale of 2 leaflets per person at every bus stop and every
Vehicle on either side of them at every red traffic light during the
Journey which includes 20 bus stops with an average of 6 people per stop 5
Lorries each with a passenger one of which exchanged a Yorkie Bar weighing
An ounce for 12 of the leaflets and 2 coaches each containing 51 people 7
Of which from one coach returned the leaflets and 16 people from the other
Coach who asked for a further leaflet each for a member of one of their
Families Assuming that man A then had to travel a further 2.86 miles out of
His way to drop off hitch-hiker B how late would man A be in arriving at
The office by 9:30 a.m.? If he still had 6 miles to travel and his watch
Was running 23 minutes slow but the clock at the office was running 2
Minutes faster than his was in fact 17 minutes and 3 secs ahead of the
Correct time which was 2:30 in the morning in Caracas If when 5 miles from
The office he telephoned his boss to apologize for being late but was told
By his boss C to pick up a package 2.63 miles away from his present
Location and deliver it to client D in Bristol by train, by 4:30 that
Afternoon and at the same time man D was mistakenly told to come to London
To receive same package from man A Now man A's train, train 1, left 30
Mins. late but man D's train, train 2, left 5 mins early so when the trains
Passed each other train 1 was travelling at 75 m.p.h. to make up for lost
Time and train 2 was travelling at 52 m.p.h. Would man A reach Bristol
Earlier or later according to his watch which was now running 5 mins.
Slower than man D's would have been had he not got off the train and
Checked the correct time at a station between Bristol and London and
Stopped to phone A's boss, man C to double check A would be there to meet
Him and discover his mistake catch next train, train 3, back to Bristol
Which unlike A's train 1 which stopped at 4 stations on the way for 6 mins
Each stop was an express train D's train caught up with A's train 1 4 miles
From Bristol As the trains drew alongside each other A's train was
Travelling at 12 m.p.h. and D's train was travelling at 13.6 m.p.h. and man
A was sat in the front How long would it take to fill the bath?
-
Too long. With what?
-
By September he should have 30 credits. As long as his GPA is not terrible can't see a problem
-
Thanks Tony that makes sense and what I was hoping,.....if Chris stays which i think he will. while we'll miss the seniors, the pieces should fall in place for a decent team next year

Heres a question regarding ADR. And I apologize if this has been answered, but how does a kid get into a 4 year university without taking the SAT? Is ADR in question on whether or not he took the test? If by now they have not stated he did, then would he have to retake? Also if he has to retake, how did he get into sju and take classes? How is this kid even allowed to step foot on campus. Or did i miss something and it was agreed upon that he did take the test and did not receive the proper score to be eligible? I mean SJU can still admit him with a bad score if they felt he was good in the classroom.

I think the NCAA questioned his jump in scores?
-
I thought it was because he had a big jump when he took the second SAT and the NCAA questioned it.
-
Gotcha.
-
So the questions r 1) was he qualified in the first place and 2) if not, does a year of course work cure it?
-
St. John's accepted him. As a sophomore SAT should have no effect on his eligibility . If he is a student in good standing why couldn't he play a sport?

I'm going with 3 hours and 17 minutes. But Riddle me this. If a man eats himself does he disappear or double in size?

I could be wrong but I thought both cleared NCAA clearing house.

I think that's right and questions were raised after.

Anyone know why we didn't recruit DelGado?

Adonis

Plenty of room for more than one....
-
Because he was going to play for Antigua at Seton Hall. Recruited him initially and backed off for that reason.

Thanks...makes sense.

Cary Grant tony Curtis and joan Crawford.

That's why I didn't mind Lavin recruiting them both.

I have a question also. Why have Otis and Logen stopped posting since we've been winning?
That loser Otis has posted in a week and was a daily contributor when we were losing...posting seven times after the Nova loss.
-
Which poster on this thread is mentioned on the latest Kid Rock album. PS it is the song with the explicit lyrics :)

It is almost every year

Are we 100% deifintely in or only 95%? 90% 75%?
-
i think 85 pct
-
Are we 100% deifintely in or only 95%? 90% 75%?
100%...even after yesterday's loss Lunardi still has us as an 8 seed.
Jerry Palm on CBSSports moved us up to a 6.

Gee, if we lose the next game by 40 maybe Palm will move us to the 4 line.

Has the Dominator's defensive performance this year been the best in history of St. John's basketball?
As far as I know, yes
-

Hatten, Artest and Sharif Fordham are the most disruptive defensive players I can think of off the top of my head. Fordham especially was a great on ball defender. Pointer is probably overrated on the ball. He's great off the ball.
-
Barkley was great too
-
Pointer is chaos on defense. He's the the guy you pick first just so you don't have to play against him. Nothing worse than playing against a guy who wreaks havoc
-
Amazing. I completely agree.
-
None of the guys Foad mentioned really blocked a tom of shots.
-

There's more to defense than blocking shots. Hatten averaged 100 steals a year. Was Bob Werdann a better defender than Pointer because he blocked more shots?
-
Foad, I won't compete with you but the Dominator as a few steals as well.

+fun
I dont really remember Fordham but Hatten was the best ive seen.
-
Foad, I won't compete with you but the Dominator as a few steals as well.
You know, every time I say something it's not an invitation to a steal cage death match. Sometimes I'm just chatting. Sometimes I'm even amiable.
Pointer has been a wrecking ball this year on defense. No argument. Is he a great defensive player? I don't know. He's certainly good. He's not a great on ball defender. He purposefully lets his man by so he can block shots at the rim. He helps too much. He doesn't defend the three point line particularly well. On the other hand he blocks shots. He disrupts the passing lanes. He hustles back. He defends bigger stronger players. He has been a revelation since the light bulb went on. It's just too bad the light bulb went on in January.
-
I think Pointer should have got it but a case could definitely be made for Dunn. Look at the 7 first team big east members. They are all perimeter players with perhaps a slight exception of Henton. This was a guards league and Dunn was responsible for guarding the other teams best guard, something he did great at.
Still there was more than a few times this year where Dom Pointer was on a whole different level than everybody else.

Forgot about Sharif, he was a damn good defender. Agree about Dom.. A great help defender. If I had to lock one player up, say Kris Dunn for example, not sure Dom would be the guy.. I might actually lean Rysheed actually.. Problem with Rysheed, like Dom, is that if his head isn't in it, it can be real bad.
Never had to worry about those other three though. Lock you down.... Barkley also, yes.

Dom tends to make the spectacular play from behind, so it tends to stand out more. But as Foad stated, his on the ball defense isn't great.

April 26 is NBA opt in day for college players.

Rumor is that he patterned his defense off your posting style.

Hahah look what I said about Baldi 2+ years ago..
"Guys, ask baldi a straight up question and he'll give you a straight up answer. Play around and go back and forth with him and this is what you'll get. Just like Dom Pointer, baldi is at his best when the game gets into an up and down chaotic mess."
-

Agree on all points. I never understood Lavin's obsession with playing Dom on the ball against 6'0 guards when he was clearly best at playing forwards and helping.
The guy can literally defend five positions...some better than others. I don't ever remember a better help defender.
Sharif Fordham was a very underrated player...strong defender...better on the ball than Pointer without a doubt.
Hatten could pick anyone's pocket, but didn't bring the effort as consistently as Dom. When he wanted it, though, lookout.
-
I want a Sharif Fordham on my team every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

it was my mantra the entire conference schedule. Worked wonders not thinking too much of other stuff. We can just celebrate these guys for getting it done when doubts and craziness seemed to be swirling around.
