He was pre season newcomer of the year. He wasn't newcomer of the year

Great article, and seems line an all around good guy. He is also still pretty loyal to SJU. Too bad he could help kick start the program again, or if Fran got their a few years sooner...A lot of ifs. That's why I just blame it on the Redmen curse :-).

Right. Some guy named Alan Iverson won the post season award but was never heard from again. ;) :) I remember before the season John Thompson was proclaiming that AI was better than Felipe and we all scoffed.

@franfraschilla: Chris Mullin and Felipe Lopez will be representing the @NBA at @usabasketball practice at West Point Monday. Two of my all-time favorites!
-
Does anyone know how long Mulling and Lopez wrecking to be there? One day a week?
-
Some comments on BE & SJU from Chris Mullin as well;

Felipe made a very nice speech last night at the Hall of Fame dinner. Said he came to SJU because of its great tradition and Lou. Even though Lou had retred, he wanted to be associated with Lou and a part of the tremendous program he had built. Felipe never mentioned Mahoney. Tarik and Zendon were there to show support for Felipe, as were Lou, Keady, the AD, and others.
