I don't think it is mutually exclusive. Louisville won a NC with only one real post player. I think we are building more in the mold of Pitino's teams. We also need a wing in 2014. Kid looks real good from videos.

Apparently yes. :tickedoff:
Although I do agree with MCN, it's not mutually exclusive. We can recruit both at the same time.
But it's incredibly frustrating to see us never mentioned with post players (seemingly anyway).

Thats my point. Flurry of new 14 recruits and since I don't count Adonis, not much there. I love Abu but we need 2 in '14

Preaching to the choir, my friend.
Maybe the bigs are Euros we just haven't heard about.
But if you look at coach's history since he's been here, it's hard not to come to the conclusion he doesn't place a priority on post players.
Pelle and Gathers didn't work out, true. But we could list 100s of guards and wings the staff has been mentioned with over the past 3 years. How many post players? 5-10? The JUCO from Cali last year, Phil nolan, chandler. Not too many after that.

There are only 20 players in the top 150 that are 6'9" or greater. We land one more 6'9" kid and we have more than most in terms of highly ranked kids. I'm more concerned about landing a kid like Abu. Right now we still have Obekpa and Jones. We will certainly target others but I don't think you will hear about all of them within the next month or two.
Land the best talent and the rest will take care of itself. Don't forget that lots of talent shows later. Lots of kids will be rising and falling...

Originally from La Romana, the third largest city in the Dominican Republic, Francis came to the United States in the ninth grade and was not ranked by any of the major recruiting services coming into last weekend.
That is expected to change quickly, but Francis believes that his game still has plenty of room to grow. He missed time with a knee injury and wrist injury over the past year, but is now fully healthy.
“The sky is the limit. I want to be great,” he said. “I want to show people that I’m better than a lot of players [ranked] in front of me. I just want to show what I can do, go to college, get my degree and make my mother proud. I just want to show everybody what I can do on the court.”
A lengthy list of schools have expressed interest and offered scholarships, but Francis said five are standing out at this point — Cincinnati, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana and Miami (FL).

Francis tells scout.com Louisville and Florida are recruiting him the "hardest."
While Francis has a whole lot of interest, it is Louisville and Florida that have emerged as the schools recruiting him the hardest.
“I think they have separated themselves right now because they are recruiting me the hardest,” said Francis of the Cardinals and Gators. “They have been talking to me every other day, and sometimes they hit me every day. They play almost the same with guards and pick and roll.”
