Title: Making money off 9/11
Post by: JohnnyJungle on December 17, 2008, 12:07:02 AM
I'm watching TV now and there is an infomercial about a commemorative silver $11 bill with the NY city sky line with the twin towers honoring the 7 year anniversary of 9/11. Get it now for only $20. Is this right? It seems wrong to me to make money off of such a tragic event.

People have been making money off 9/11 for years.  I refused to go by the site in part because I wanted to smack the tourists taking pictures and ogling the t-shirts and the like... they were not there.

I watched the Nicolas Cage movie and it was not that bad...but not great either. Hard part about watching it was you got a first hand account about what was going on under the rubble and what these vicitims had to endure. I can understand why some families don't want movies made. I look at it like a war movie (innocent people dying in the name of ....God, Radicalism, Country etc.)

I had no issue with the movie.

I thought it was tastefully done and told a great and positive story that was a result of the tragedy.
