Per ESPN Recruiting....

Jordan Washington (Queens, N.Y./Pathways College Prep)
2013, C, 6-7, 225 pounds | Team: New Heights
College: Undecided
Washington was a man among boys in the U-16 division. He's built like an NFL lineman with dancer's feet in the mold of Robert "Tractor" Traylor. He has incredible muscle mass and power to carve out space inside the paint along with the mobility to run the court charging downhill and quickly change direction. He plays with a ton of emotion that can sometimes be a liability but could eventually turn into an asset if he learns to harness it.

NBE's write up on him this weekend.

Jordan Washington (New Heights 2013) – At 6’7” 225 pounds Washington is a load in the paint at the 16U level. He has very broad shoulders and a muscular frame that allow him to bully opponents in the paint. Most of Washington’s scoring is done from right at the rim as he uses his quick feet and wide body to create space and has no problem absorbing contact and still putting the ball in the basket. He does have a tendency to pick up cheap offensive fouls because he is so much stronger than most defenders in his age group and loves to initiate contact. Going forward, he will need to learn how to channel his aggressiveness down low so that it can work in his favor but there is no doubt he has potential to be a low post scoring option at the high-major level.

Jordan Washington – Washington is undecided on whether he will return to Pathways for his junior season or seek a prep school option and won’t make a decision until later in the summer. He has received early interest from Villanova, Notre Dame and Oregon.

This would be another shame to have an absolute stud born and raised in queens commit to an outsider, this kid has his problems but he also has pro potential!! [legit] . Really hope the staff can do something before its to late. This kid is the goods!!

I think it was dead from the start. Being a Kimani kid pretty much makes Nova a slam dunk, no?

What a disaster.  Sorry Chilleb.  I don't know how this kid can be anywhere close to the best player in the PSAL.

He has horrible on court demeanour for starters which turns me off.  He has no touch.  Think he had 3 points.  Out of control with the ball. Traveled twice down low.  2 blatant charges where he channeled his inner Sean Evans/Magic Johnson trying to go coast to coast.  Then got tee'd up as well.  4 first half fouls.  Then you never saw him again.  Heights went with Obekpa, Flex, Jenkins, Williams and someone else, Harland (sp).  Washington needs a swift kick because he's had too many twinkies and grape soda  :2funny:

I think he's benefitted from being the biggest kid on the block. That catches up to you at the next level.

I don't think he's a poor player but I don't think he's a great player. Personally I'd look in another direction recruiting but thats just my own taste. As for Villanova, Jay Wright followed Jordan Washington around all summer, this is no surprise.

Wright has another fairly out of shape big man in Markus Kennedy who I think is light years better than what I saw from Jordan last night.

He must have had some extra strong Twinkies and Grape Soda :)

A different Jordan Washington tonight.  Still some of the issues I saw from yesterday but he came to play tonight.  Was a lot more focused and on 'slightly' better behavior.  He still needs someone to really mature him and fine tune his game.  He needs to get the hell out of the PSAL to a prep school or something.  He just doesn't care enough out there, screws around, gets angry at dumb little things, but when he turned the switch tonight it was fun to watch.

Sorry man, but I'd pass.  Just my opinion though.  I don't know if I could take years of that day in and day out.  Then again lets see if his Sr. year he matures.

He aint Oliver Miller..  he is skilled without a doubt.. I just can't tell how skilled because he is literally a man amongst boys... He is also 6'7 tops .
If we need a big man for next year we should be looking elsewhere imo.. where?  beats the heck out of me :)

Not crazy moose.  I'd love to land Washington if he is qualified because he provides everything we don have.  He's a big PF that is strong, can run the court a bit and can score in the post.  He's local to boot.  I'm not saying he's the best player around, but he fits our needs very well.  Seems like the kind of kid that big ten teams have in abundance.  Any chance he qualifies?  What are his issues?

I agree, Moose.  I've never seen him before but he seems to have good skills.  And he definitely would not be pushed around in the box.  10-12 minutes a game as a Freshman, while putting in work with the conditioning coach, and we would have a player.

He's a character.  Fun to watch.  Has moments you want to go Sprewell on him.  But a big boy and crafty.  But ppl tell me its hopeless for him to get eligible.

If he has skills and can qualify - he can always lose weight...

Not always, look at Josh Smith.  Chances are if you got fat you are lazy, not always motivated to lose it.

Some guys are heavy, but can play too.  Teague killed us.  Robert Traylor was good for a chubby player.  So was Sean May, and that kid from Georgetown a few years back who's name is escaping me.  It's possible he's willing to work at it and lose a few.  A good staff can motivate. He's the type of player we need to round out our team.  That said, it's all moot if he can't qualify.

Is he not eligible for HS or was the school just pissed he left and came back and was holding him out?

Sometimes guys like that don't need to get in shape.  They lose that edge then sometimes.

Who holds out 6'7 260 in the psal? I say he needs to get in shape because anybody who knows him knows he was really a guard at first with a handle and deception, because of the weight he transitioned to the post. Just shows how talented this kid is to make that switch.

He clearly doesn't mind dribbling thats for sure.

As for PSAL don't they just let just about anyone play?  That's why I suggested that :)

Lol, when he was a freshman he looked light years better. If that's even imaginable, but some psal schools have a bit more integrity than others and his school is one of them. One of the smaller schools with 500 student population.

Yeah. Marquette got a stud forward from there this year and Dwight Bucyks, Hardy's teammate back when.

Have known this kid personally for a long time now. J-wash is the only person that can stop J-wash. Kid is an absolute beast. And mind you he does all of this with no practice, no working on his game and is in the worst possible shape you can be in. If he gets it all together... Scary.

On Saturday, New Heights 17U (NY) won a war, 57-50, versus the New Orleans Elite and their stud Craig Victor which advanced them to the Elite 8 of the Adidas 64 in Vegas.

Up for the battle against Victor inside was Jordan Washington who had 25 points and 14 rebounds.

While Washington held down the fort in the paint, New Heights PG Desure Buie changed the game in the second half. "[It] was a tremendous performance by the young kid," said head coach Joel Shapiro of Buie.

New Heights 17s would then move even closer to the ultimate prize, making it to the final four with a 74-67 win over Indiana Elite. The 17U squad is now 7-0 at the Las Vega event. Paul Jorgensen scored a team high 26 points with Washington adding 25 points. - See more at: http://nychoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1529388#sthash.vlsXu2AM.dpuf (http://nychoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1529388#sthash.vlsXu2AM.dpuf)

Always heard rumblings about his age.  How is he allowed to play then?

AAU has turned into more of what graduating class you're in not so much age. Unwritten rule

True Dave, but these days who's really honestly 17 playing 17U, the reclass game has taken over. As long as your grade matches nobody is interested in your age.

He was born too late, and in the wrong sport. That description makes him sound like a baseball player from the '70s.

I remember watching him at IS8 last year and he dominated all weekend. Funny thing was, the last day these guys already played 2 games by the time they were in the championship and everyone on both teams was sucking wind except him. Put the team on his back and had about 35 points and 20+ rebounds, won't forget that performance any time soon. Hope this guy can get it together

Super talented is very kind of you to say. I wouldn't go that far.

I still want this kid to suit up on offensive line. That is his meal ticket.
