Incredible, this class is out of control. We are getting so many good athletes with so many different skill sets.

Biancardi called him arguably the best defender in the entire class.

I'm just envisioning how amazing the practices and pickup games are going to be with this class with all of this talent just making everybody else better with the help of a great coaching staff.

He's in?  Committed.
It'll be interesting to see how these wings are utilized.

Coaches Carnesecca, Mahoney, Fraschilla, Jarvis, and Roberts have got to be stunned at this ability to attract this much national talent--in year one. There's no begging some local bigshot to please give St. John's a hometown discount.

Wow is all I can say.  Top 5 class.  Espn has us ranked with the 5th best class in the country and we still have a TON of scholarships to give out.  Lavin is the man!

Personally, I viewed him more as a 3/2, who primarily can score inside and off of slashes. As for the name thing, I was around his AAU program, The Family, a lot and I only heard teammates and coaches call him "Dom," when he played for them. The team's top scorer, 6'1" Carlton Brundidge, is heading to Michigan and there was definitely a pro-Michigan feel. Pointer's breakout came when he was invited, as a late invite, to the LeBron James Skills Academy/King City Classic-it was also the first opportunity for the coaches to see the Nike players. With QEA, he's scheduled to play this upcoming season in the Primetime Shootout against LaQuinton Ross and Life Center.

6'5" Dominique Pointer is a Freak Athlete (Underrated 2011 SF)

If he's going to be as good as advertised defensively, just throw him anywhere on the floor and let him take the other team's hottest scorer out of rhythm. What a luxury. I think it's pretty obvious this team isn't going to be traditional in any sense.

That about sums it up, Moose.  LOL   I'll just call him, Dom or Pointer.

Nevertheless, excellent news for the Johnnies.

Welcome Dom!

Steve Lavin, you sir are the man.  5 recruits so far from California, Texas, Michigan, Ohio and New York and all are highly rated.  St. John's is becoming cool again thanks to Big Lav.
