This game may not mean so much when you consider that this once proud program, ranked #1 in the nation would be proud of a hard loss at home to Monmouth, but here we are.
The Johnnies started to come together against Colgate taking better care of the ball, and making the extra pass. It paid off. Less turnovers (11) and good rebounding, are encouraging.
I think we’re on the cusp of breaking out with a dominant performance and the team will come out strong early, keep their foot on the gas.

Pitt's center Hugley reminds me of Nate Watson a bit. Big body and good offensive rebounder who will draw fouls at the rim. Other than Hugley, they are putrid offensively. Should be favored by double digits, and a 10+ point margin of victory is the ideal outcome for NET purposes. Agree with Poison that we should handle these guys and build momentum heading into BE play.
Looking forward to being back in the Garden for the first time in two years.

Does anyone know what happened to Max Amadasun? Posh and Dylan's OSL teammate and one time SJU target. Does not appear that he has logged a minute this year.

St. John’s plays like it’s afraid to lose. That’s really the fault of you basketball administrators who refuse to challenge your guys by putting together a competitive ooc schedule. You can’t develop a Big East level team by playing the St. Francis of Brooklyns et al like you have done. Don’t think your basketball program with its current leadership is up for the job. No way you are even close to being New York’s team. Seton Hall, Iona, Hofstra all push the envelope in their ooc schedules and because of that they are the class of the NY Metro area:

I think we have enough talent to compete this year but I've been puzzled by use and rotation.
Soriano and combo of Wheeler/Nyiwe/Stanley combining for 30+ min is a recipe for 50 points.
I've said from start of season I was hopeful Mathis minutes would reduce. I think he's a good piece but I'd like to see more injection of Coburn who I don't know why he's in such a dog house.
I like Stef Smith purely bc he doesn't need to dominate ball. Also I don't mind seeing more of Pinzon.
We have a lot of similar parts and think management of game flow and rotation has been subpar. Imagine where we'd be without the immediate transfer rule.
