Game 15: @Georgetown, 1PM (CBS National)
« on: January 02, 2019, 12:22:13 PM »
Our experience and war scars show on Saturday. Georgetown's guards although talented are extremely green when it comes to conference play. Shamorie and Heron should have their way with either McClung or Akinjo.

Properly preparing Josh LeBlanc/Pickett/Govan/Mourning against our frontline is key. LeBlanc is very talented, potential rookie of the year. Keita's first real test comes against Govan, who has killed us over the years. Mourning is competent as well.

Driving down for this one, enjoying DC on Saturday, looking forward.

One thing in our favor is that Hoyas play tonight (Wednesday) on the road against Butler who will be up for them after the Florida debacle.  That means Thursday is travel day and gives them one day to get ready for us which is a lot to ask of a young team.

Georgetown's Mac McClung (ankle) and Trey Mourning (concussion) will both not play tonight against Butler, per a school spokesman.

Govan and LeBlanc will be big problems for us, but their ball handlers are young and turnover prone. Amp up the on-ball pressure and make them fight to get it to their bigs. Take their lunch money

I was really shocked to see Mullin's shooting stats in the NBA weren't great.

He only averaged 2.2 threes per game and shot 38.4% for his career. His first season he shot 18.5% and the next five were:  30.2%, 35.1%, 23%, 37.2%, and 30.1%.

He was an all-star averaging 26.5 ppg shooting only 23% on 1.2 attempts per game from three!!! What?! I was young but I remember him as a three point assassin.

Made his bones playing without the three. If they'd had it when he was in college he'd have scored 4000 points.

3 point percentages have gone way up since it was first instituted.

It was a different game back then.  Larry bird didnt have a great % from 3 and he could shoot the lights out.

Big game today.  Rivalry game.  The hoyas arent great but we will have to play a very goid game to beat them on the road.

I feel like were playing good but just not hitting shots...

I feel the same way. We're playing our game, just not hitting and getting bad bounces. I think we'll get it together.

Good to see LJ going to hoop there, think he’s gonna need to get going today.

Frankly, I don't think we're playing well at all.  We're sloppy, giving too many easy looks and seem a step slow.

Keita's ability to defend Govan in the post will be the key to winning IMO

Prior to that little run I felt the same way. Keita catch and finish was nice to see.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

There we go!  Ramping it up on the defensive end.
