2/16 Xavier Game Thread

Biggest game / week of the season.

Tonight taking on Xavier who is playing 2nd game back after Covid pause. They are going to be coming out firing after losing to UConn ....Bryan Griffen is out for them he beat us up pretty good last game and is one of there main bigs.

Must win for tourney bid ....Need Posh to bounce back and have to control Freemantle.

We the. Would move into 4th place in big east / net would jump to lows 60’s and the providence win becomes quad 1 and makes 3 quad 1 wins.

Realistically, this game is for our tournament chances. Lose and it’s a really big uphill climb.

I want to believe, but I don’t like how we match up against then inside. Nor have I ever. If our bigs do their job on defense, we can win going away. I was not encouraged by what I saw @ Butler. If coach is our guy, he’s made adjustments this last week of practice, and we’ll be ready.

Up and down 1h...responded well after both there runs. Julian playing great / Moore rebound and earlington great 1h....Dunn is just that player who will make plays and then make some of the dumbest decisions. Up 10 with 15 seconds take last shot! And Greg has to finish that layup there.

Like every game have to come out and play for 40 and guard the 3 ball better in 2h

Moore looking solid again...just don’t fall in love with the deep ball.

All good points. Game seems disjointed maybe played at too fast a pace. I know we are up 8 but need to play better defense in second half to prevent X from getting hot.

Posh's quickness is next level. No one on Xavier can stay with him. He's all over the place on both ends.

Play of the game right there. Posh's hustle and dive on the floor to keep possession. Gamer.

Not sure I've ever seen anybody play with his intensity for damn near 40 minutes every single game. Guy is all over the floor and takes no plays off.

Some guys struggled tonight, like Roberts and Cole, but Earlington picked them up. He had a great all around game.

Huge win...thought Moore and earlington played there best games. Dunn played his best offensive game tonight huge shot to put us up 9 with 1 min but 2/5 from foul line in last min I still don’t get why Julian doesn’t get ball!

Posh locked up freshman of year and I think defensive player of year. His stat line was amazing tonight.
