I'm actually not even sure of his eligibility or what year or how long he would have but I found that he has expressed interest in us. He is a 6'7 forward. I'm thinking he could have the same eligibility as Adam Hrycaniuk from Cincinnati this past season. He says its between Loyola Marymount, UCSB, Depaul, Davidson, and St. John's.

Oh I just realized you might have meant a link to what colleges he is interested and stuff like that and there is no link. You won't find this information out anywhere besides Johnny Jungle.

he may as well put scotch on the staff-- he'd be a more effective recruiter than Braicca.

Apparently, he is not also George Hamilton's son.

Is he supposed to be an 08 recruit? Is he eligible? Is he a walk-on candidate?

I'm trying to find all of this out. I also highly he would leave Europe to be a walk-on.

Looks very athletic.
-
Used to play for Lawrence Academy in Mass.
-
did he even make those shots? :)
-
A recruit fitting Hamilton's description was seen touring the campus hosted by Dele Coker this past wednesday. Can't say for sure it was him. All i know is that he was around 6'7-6'8 and wearing a cincinatti red hat.
-
What's he doing with a Cincy hat on?
-
probably because "it looks nice"
-
We'll let it pass for now... anyone with word on whether he's coming?
-
As I understand it, it's a dead period right now, so I doubt Ashley was on campus making a visit.
-
That's what I thought too (about the dead period) but teams are still announcing commits (like Jordan Henriquez) and according to Rivals, some point guard named Malik Stith committed on Friday. (http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=83329)
-
he's class of 2009.
-
People can committ all they want during dead periods, but they can't take visits to campus, which is why I doubt Hamilton was on campus getting a tour from Coker.
-
Thanks for the clarification. My friend must have mistaken him for someone on the team. Could it be Rob Thomas is a reds fan and has dropped 15 lbs?

Rob has dropped b/w 20-30 lbs. since the season ended from what I've read and been told.

Rob dropping the weight is an excellent sign. Less on the knees.

Hamilton signed with Loyola Marymount:

thanks for the update peter. Ashley was more of a 2/3 than a 4 despite the height we probably didn't have too much room for him.

LMU is quickly going to become a VERY strong program...
Bayno is a real closer on the recruiting front. . and has a proven track record of developing pro players.. and now he has worked with an NBA team for a few years.. kids today will be very anxious to learn from someone with that depth of knowledge and experience...
Maybe SJU can bring him back East when Norm finally gets axed and puts us out of our misery..
-
Didn't Bayno have a "pay a player" scandal? Can't imagine St. John's going within a mile of a guy accused of paying players.
But I see the benefits of a guy like that, and I don't know if that would hold me back from hiring someone (as long as they are also given some serious oversight).

Wasnt that at UNLV when he was recruiting Lamar Odom?
-
Was UNLV one of the schools Odom didn't go to? Ah, it was.

Yes... and your point..?
-
The point? He got caught in a scandal! St. John's has shown an aversion to scandals, and unless something changes in the leadership, the school isn't going to hire someone with that kind of mark on their resume. Or at least, it'll give them pause.
I would think that he has buyout clause in his 5 yr/ $2 mill contract that he just started...

Point being he was involved in a scandal at UNLV which resulted in his firing. That was the question asked in the previous post
