I think this is gonna be the longest weekend ever.  Xavier is gonna be all over him.  Heard he almost gave a verbal before.  We really need this kid.
The phrase perfect storm refers to the a simultaneous occurrence of events which, taken individually, would be far less powerful than the result of their chance combination. Such occurrences are, by their very nature, rare, and so even a slight change in any one event contributing to a ‘perfect storm’ would be sufficient to lessen the overall power of the final event.

Xavier?  Really?  I can't believe he would pass up the Big East or another big conference school for Xavier.

I know...I'm not necessarily putting down Xavier but I'm surprised when bigtime players look anywhere other than a top tier conference.

Anyway..let's all pray for rain at Xavier this weekend ;D

there was an article about how xavier is going to use basketball has their main advertisement for the school and how they are putting big money into the program.

Don't sip Book's kool-aid  ;)
Xavier wasn't ranked in any week in the top 25 during the 2005-06 or 2006-07 seasons.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/12/sports/ncaabasketball/12xavier.html

"erhaps the biggest reason for the program’s rise is how the administration views its athletic department. Without a football team, men’s basketball is the No. 1 sport on the campus of 6,700 students. Xavier’s athletic director, Mike Bobinski, said the quality basketball program had helped the university develop its image and become more than a regional institution.

“The decision was made some years ago that this was always going to be a strategic vehicle for the university,” he said. “If that’s your strategy, you better darn well do it right.”

Much of the credit goes to the Rev. James E. Hoff, the former president of Xavier, who was a major component in building the $45 million Cintas Center, a centerpiece of the small campus. Hoff, who died in 2004, remains a respected figure. A jersey bearing his name hangs in Cintas Center, next to the retired numbers of Larkin, Tyrone Hill and David West."

Xavier basketball team is one of the richest programs in the country in terms of financial worth. I believe they were in the top 10 in Forbes last year.

Theres 2 things that should stick out here for Parrom that could sway his decision to SJU. "Mid Major and Atlantic 10"

Then there's the whole "go to the tournament every year" thing... and it's not like Conference USA, they still have to work in their conference.

xavier can be a real powerhouse w/ the funding, and sean miller.

if i were parrom i may pick xavier.  i can be "the man" at a very good program with a great coach.  and i wouldnt have that much pressure like i would at stj.

Kenny Frease is going to be a very solid player for Xavier.
He'd be a starter as a freshman at several BE schools.
They beat out some good programs to get him, but he wanted to stay close to home.

Walsh, Lyons, and Holloway will be good mid-major players too.

i do think parrom can be "the man: there.  but that just goes to show you he will have a good supporting cast with him.

going to xavier is very understandable imo

Maybe we should wait and see how all these kids do as frosh and sophs before making that assessment?

Fwiw, looking more and more like Parrom won't be a johnnie :(
