Whitney also talked about his in home visit with St. John's.

“It was great, coach (Chris) Mullin came out with the whole coaching staff and they had a sheet with my scouting report to help them get better," said Whitney. "We just talked about my future.”

As for the next step in Whitney's recruitment, chalk him up as an "after the summer" guy in terms of when he will make a final list of schools.

Every time I looked over, I had to ask myself, “Who is that!?” That would be J’Wan Roberts, a soon-to-be breakout from the state of Texas who holds offers from just North Texas, UTRGV, Houston Baptist, and St. John’s. Finding 6-foot-8 forwards that can run the floor, finish in traffic, rebound and defend away from the rim, Roberts fits the mold of a high-major prospect.The Virgin Islands native knocked down eight of his 12 shots from the floor, while remaining a presence on the glass and as a backline defender. It would not be a surprise to see the local Big 12 programs become involved soon.

I think SJU makes 8 but Illinois and Louisville best shot here.

If you are talking about top 50 kids I think Scottie Lewis, Cockburn, Iggy, Achiuwa and Whitney in terms of descending odds of a chance to land (Best to worst).

Steal one of those 5 and combine with Ledlum, Bishop/Gaffney and maybe a transfer....
