The school is named Cardozo, not Cardoza.

I graduated from it, please fix.

We scrimmaged against Cardozo in high school. As we were walking into the gym, some of the players were playingdice. Rafer Alston holding court. Maybe Nacleirio sends some our way

@CoachRNaclerio: U. of Rhode Island very high on Cardozo's Rashond Salnave (2016)

@F150Bflinn: Commits in the NYC area are far from over this week. 2016 Cardozo (NY) G Ray Salnave will announce on Thursday evening.

Interesting.  I know that SJU and Seton Hall were interested at one point, but that appears to have dwindled. And saw the tweet from Naclerio re: URI.  Were Iona and Manhattan on this kid?

This is puzzling. Wasn't he once one of the best players in the city?

For their standards, Monmouth had it's breakthrough last year, a winning season under King Rice! But in all seriousness they have been recruiting much better of late and are trying to be a MAAC team on the rise ala Quinnipiac.

But if you're one of the best players in the city, surely you could do better than the MAAC? I agree, Monmouth has improved, but I would expect a program like Monmouth to get the kind of recruit who is overlooked like Scott Machado and AJ English. We've been following Salnave for years.

Trust me I'm just as puzzled, from what I've read here and elsewhere he was a heavy Rutgers lean.

He'd be a great get for Monmouth talent wise but kid is not the easiest to deal with.

Rutgers stopped recruiting him once they took a pledge from Kwe Parker.

Crazy reading through this thread and then hearing he's going to end up at Monmouth.

Iona offered him in June but then backed off.  Maybe their signing of EJ Crawford was the reason.

Iona is not recruiting Cardozo G Ray Salnave, source tells @snytv. He will announce college choice Thursday w/ Monmouth the favorite.

Manhattan offered him as well but did not seem to be recruiting him very hard.   According to Verbal Commits he was offered by Manhattan in Jan 2014.  Maybe he was a Rasheen Davis target and the recruiting relationship fell apart after Davis left?

If that wasn't such an issue he'd already be committed to Seton Hall

There were academic and other issues, right?

Believe so. He might be better off red shirting even if he is eligible, Monmouth has 4 or 5 good guards
