-
Postponed per Zagoria
2019s @BryanAntoine_ and @Scott_lewis_23 Will unofficially visit @StJohnsBBall Wednesday. Their Elite Camp has been postponed
-
Elite camp "postponed" due to "school issue" - what an embarassment
-
AD Goff was hired so snafus like this would not happen. What the f happened?
-
Expect Matt to work hard to get some other kids to visit next week unofficially in addition to Antoine & Lewis.
-
what a turn off to prospective kids...
we are minor league.. we are st johns
-
I agree it's not the best look but if it were such a turn off then these kids wouldn't even visit to begin with and SJU is still going to have a host of top 18, 19 and 20 kids on campus next week.
-
We have had Elite camps numerous times in the past? What went wrong this time? :-[

Maybe Michigan's traveling road show that Harbaugh has done has changed things?
-
Che Evans, Justin Lewis and Jason Murphy of Team Memo all coming next week.

Postponed maybe because Ponds will be away for USA team? Idk why they would announce postponed if kids are still visiting.
-
That's bush league if they don't have a damned good reason why this was postponed.

Trust me the people who need to know why the camp was postponed know and everything should be OK.

Fordham - would the reason it's postponed be embarrassing or just a simple explanation ?
-
was postponed because Slice couldn't make it due to prior commitments
-
Turn out was so large they couldn't get the lobster salad in appropriate quantity and quality.

“They had a great time. Anytime you get a chance to put Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond in a room to talk about recruiting, the university, and playing in the pros, kids are really intrigued,” coach Brian Klatsky said. “They’ve been on campus a few times. This time around they had more specific questions and had a chance to get more familiar with the process. They really looked at how much progress the program made in the last year and getting a feel for the talent.
The recruiting they’ve done has really picked up and has given the program a real good chance of making a bid for the tournament this year.”
Rio took 12 players including Lewis, Antoine, Josh Alexander, Jalen Gaffney, Alex Klatsky, Ahmadu Sarnor, Jake Glezen, Noah Farrakhan, Clarence Nadolny, Dwight Davis, Trey Patterson and Cartier Bowman. Most of which has been to St. John’s on previous trips, but each time, the Johnnies give them something different. With the Johnnies placing their focus on the classes of 2018 and 2019, this trip made being at St. John’s more of a reality than a pipe dream.
“I think the difference is they actually are at a point where they can envision and get a closer feel of what it could be like to be at St. John’s,” coach said. “They can really start to visualize how they fit into the program and St. John’s is interested in quite a few of our players. It’s not just Scotty or Bryan, but other players can fit and it was very motivating to give them the feel that they can be a part of it as well. They’re all very young in the evaluation process and the recruiting is just getting started.”

Another story:
https://stjohns.rivals.com/news/st-john-s-goes-in-depth-with-visiting-2019-5-stars
New Jersey-based travel squad Team Rio, home of 2019 stars Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis, returned to Queens, N.Y. on Wednesday on an unofficial visit. The core of the group, which plays on the U17 group in the Under Armour Association, are familiar faces on campus and could become possible mainstays on Utopia Parkway.
St. John’s has been recruiting Antoine and Lewis since the duo entered high school at the Ranney (N.J.) School and has hosted the five-stars, alongside teammates Alex Klatsky, Jalen Gaffney, and Ahmadu Sarnor, on numerous visits to campus over the past year. All five returned on Wednesday, adding more kids, too, including 2020 target Noah Farrakhan and 2021 Trey Patterson.
“They have a lot of interest in our guys,” Brian Klatsky, co-founder and program director of Team Rio, told RedStormReport.com. “They’re evaluating some, and they’re really excited about others so they’re really interested in having that relationship and seeing if a group of them want to come, or if it’s one or two — really brainstorm any combination of guys that could play well together.”
“Yeah, most in-depth,” Klatsky said when comparing Wednesday’s visit to previous trips to St. John’s. “A lot of video and Q&A as the kids got a little more older. Much more in depth conversation about the process and the direction of the program. Not just looking at it as a fan but ‘OK, how do I envision myself? And what would my career look like here?’”
