It took Wright until his fourth season at Nova to post a winning conference record. (6-10 year three) with more talent than he probably would have had here after we lost Postell, Barkley, and Bootsy prior to when he would have started here.

By that point, half our fan base -- at historically high levels of entitlement  -- would have been against him and Baldi would be posting regular rumors about him going back to Hofstra and his players transferring. Opposing coaches would just tell recruits to look at our fan message boards to deter them from coming here.

Or...his great personality and growth as a coach could have turned us back into an elite program after a year or two slumping.

Rutgers feels the same way.  Remember he was ready to take the Rutgers job a year later in 2001 (a job that went to Gary Waters) until Nova pre-empted the move by pushing out Steve Lappas and making the move to hire Jay.

We should learn to trust the process. And we should relearn it every time it fails.
