Game 28: @Marquette

Patiently waiting on Markus Howard's injury update, we might be catching a break. A win here would keep our faint tourney hopes alive and would surpass last year's W total.

Marquette still beat Creighton on the road coming from behind without him so will still be a tough road game but agree would rather play them without him.

@JonRothstein: Marquette's Markus Howard has been diagnosed with a right hip contusion, per a school spokesman. Doubtful for Wednesday against St. John's.

That is Big. Lot easier to defend and might force rowsey to guard ponds from time to time.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Think they go zone. No way they can guard us.

If they play man they will put anyone but Rowsey on Ponds.  They ran multiple guards/wings last time to avoid Howard or Rowsey having to guard him.

Without Howard tho they may not have that choice for 40 minutes. Simon was a able to beat Rowsey up inside.

If man, I would think Greg Elliot checks Ponds

Simon posting up Rowsey was indeed a key element of that win. He abused him.

Rowsey had his way last game. That's ok as long he doesn't get any help from their bigs.

He hit a few from almost half court. That was the only thing keeping the game close. This is an excellent match up for us.

Should be. I'll give MU a fighter's chance playing in Mil-ee-Wah-kay.

Markus Howard listed as "doubtful" for Wednesday's game per Marquette release this morning

Things keep lining up for us - the bad luck from January is starting to turn.

I'd expect 30+ minutes of zone like they showed in the second half of the Creighton game. The corner threes will be there for Ahmed and Clark. Simon needs to be at the FT line...none of the crowding we saw when Depaul went zone in the second half.

One major key to the winning streak has been Shamorie & Justin playing well together. When they're in sync the offense clicks.  They alone lit up Marquette for 60 points. The team needs to stay hot to outshoot Marquette on home rims however.
