It's nice to see that Harrison sees it like we do. Opposing teams still need to guard him. Leaving less attention for Branch and Sampson, and who knows, maybe Pointer now as well.

Now if we can use Marco as a decoy too at times.

I believe at some point he is going to contribute.  Hit a couple of threes loosen the defense up.

Johnny Jungle- Anthony Ramos

Quote
St. John’s is coming off a good road win at DePaul and has strung together two consecutive victories in the Big East and will look to extend it in a rematch of their meeting January 9th at the Garden. Rutgers won the closely contested matchup 58-56 when JaKarr Sampson missed a game winning three pointer at the buzzer.

“We are excited for a second chance.” said D’Angelo Harrison. “They are one of our rivals and all the guys on this team are looking forward to playing them again. It’s going to be a tough game, but we’re going to be up for the challenge.”

Love, love LOVE those quotes from DLo. Very mature, team oriented approach. Best way to stop the other team from doubling him is to give it up, move the ball and get it back. Make them pay for those doubles and they'll stop doing it. So happy that he gets that.

Most interesting part of tonights game IMHO is how well Branch and Harrison co-exist in the offense. If Branch can continue to develop as a solid second option and find a comfort level with Harrison, I think you could really see things come together quickly for this group.

I think I read somewhere that they played together years ago.

Nonetheless I see them emerging as the two leaders on the team.

I think DLo is happy with Branch. The latter is always looking for him on the court.

Don't know if they directly played together, but they knew eachother from the local AAU circuit.

Saw this in Newsday this week;

Harrison and Branch have played with each other since the seventh grade in the Houston area, so Harrison figures they will find their chemistry soon. In the meantime, Branch's career-high 18-point game at DePaul might relieve defensive pressure on Harrison and Sampson.

Thanks.  I know their last AAU teams were different but going back law of averages they had to.
