15 point win for Johnnies. Fordham has no depth and we hopefully drive and get interior guys in trouble.  Let's get to foul line.  Hate to say this, but prefer playing this at Rose Hill most years. My son and I were at that loss in Lavin's first year. Hated that we blew game, but that place was rocking, unlike AH. It was a great college BBall atmosphere.
They have interior guys? I thought every guy on team was a guard, although they get to the boards pretty good. If they offensive board and get it back outside for uncontested 3, that could hurt us. I'm hoping our guys are awake for this one.

That is not a game that should have come down to the final seconds. It sould have been won by double digits.

Why do you say that?

78-52 SJU

Jordan's breakout game. Obekpa with 9 blocks.

The only reason Obekpa doesn't get 15 blocks is because they are likely to play strictly on the perimeter.

This is kinda what worries me.  If they play heavily on the perimeter it will neutralize our rim protection.  We definitely MUST guard the perimeter better than we have.

Johnnies by 4 ( on talent alone) unless Lavin utilizes his decided height advantage and inside play and not allow our guards to host up I'll advised threes. If he does, the game should be a double digit win for the Johnnies as the talent differential of  the front courts  is enormous.

In the train. Going to the game because I like going. This is not a rivalry game. Shouldn't even be a good game . Fordham sucks . They have sucked atleast for the last 20 years.
I expect the team to play well. Point spree is 12. Would be disappointing not to cover.
Don't understand how any one on here can pick us to lose. We beat Fordham when Tomas j. Was playing for us

Fordham 73, STJ 60

Severe with 34. Fordham hits 13 threes as we sit in a slow and unresponsive California Zone to start the game, fall behind early and never get closer than 8. Lavin experiences his first strong criticism from the media.

If it's all the same to everyone, I'd like to adjust my score prediction.

It was just a matter of time before SJU put a beating on a less talented team like this.  They are WAAAYYYY too talented to be struggling against the Longwood's of the world.

It was early and as soon as Sanchez finds his role like today and Jordan stops pressing and let's the game come to him and Pointer just does EVERYTHING this team can be really dangerous.  I know this is only Fordham but this is easily Pecora's best team so far even with the slim depth and Frazier and Severe have been a good backcourt.  But they just ran into a team that when they start to putting it together can REALLY be good.  I mean Lavin pulled Obekpa and Harrison with 10 minutes to go and they still push the lead up to near 50.

I mean Pointer was guarding Severe and Severe had NO chance, none.  Pointer could stay with him off the bounce and then when he tried to go inside he got his shot swatted.

When did Tomas Jasuloines face Fordham. I don't remember that. Thought we were actively avoiding them when Norm was here. We were probably better than them, but they could have certainly beaten us.

I didn't think he was but I didn't go back to check.  Before that, we had not played them for 7 years (according to Rumble in the Garden article).

My bad. Point is they suck and have always sucked. Silly to predict us to lose to them
